While Longford will be no push over, i think we should win. Great to have both teams in Leinster final. Best wishes.

Longford will not be an easy game by any stretch. Having to go there makes the game a lot trickier. They'll likely have every man and his dog there which will make it intimidating to play there and of course the length of time spent on a bus comes into it too. At any rate I still see a Meath win but it won't be any kind of walk over.

So far a very disappointing week for Meath. Apparently a very poor performance from Meath today,we really need to be doing better at underage. We should not be losing to the likes of Longford at this level on a regular basis.I had high hopes for this team,I just wonder if the coaches are good enough.

Longford 1-10
Meath 0-9

According to Mattie Kerrigan it was a dreadful display.

Ziggy- nail on head. Ffs we really need to sort out the coaching. Been saying it for ages. Terrible display.

On the way home from Longford and I am absolutely gutted. We just didn't play at all. A 10 minute patch in the 2nd half where we started scoring. Lads looked nervous and the wet day didn't help things. I was hoping that a Leinster minor would come out off this team but it isn't to be

What would we do if we had poor underage teams? We have seen many promising teams with a lot of good players, get beaten by ordinary teams.Mattie Kerrigan said the players were unsure about themselves,we have heard and seen that before. To me that suggests poor coaching. No matter how good/bad a player is,you need good coaches. This needs to be sorted out or less this kind of thing will keep happening.Youngsters lose confidence, and that does not help when some of them make it to senior level. Its too lazy to say Meath have not good footballers at underage level, because I haveseen these players play and previous teams, and a lot of them are good players.

Yet another disappointment for Meath footballers at underage level. Meath seniors will likely suffer the most in the years ahead.

How do we expect to close the gap on Dublin or even keep ahead of the rest of the teams in Leinster if we keep getting results like this?

As regard coaching heres an example..

I know a guy who is involved with the U14's and he has barely played the game at any level! He hasn't played since his school days and never played for a club! Now how the hell can you expect kids to be coached well, when you have a scenario like that!?

Ziggy would you stop. The gaa give Dublin millions for underage couching. What do you expect.

Longford at home beat us by 4 points in the semi final. Overall in leinster we're well above average for underage.

Counties like Tipperary and Roscommon do not have millions,to say "ah sure Dublin have millions" is no excuse for us not to be doing better. If we have that attitude as a county,we may as well forget about it...

Unlucky today lads. No shame losing to a Longford side who just had that little bit of class to get them over the line
