a few decent performances but a bit of a fade out in the last ten minutes. Dublin took over and won breaking ball around the middle. Wouldn't be reading too much into it, quite a few not involved yesterday who should be by championship time (Ross Ryan, Irala Hughes, Brian Conlon, Daire Lynch to name a few)

i heard last Wed the cut for the Minor football panel was taken place on Friday . Any word on who was let go and who stayed as i think we are playing first round in 3 weeks time in Navan . i see Dublin beat Killdare on saturday in league final would you think we will go well this year as we only lost to dublin by 1pt and did not play our best 15 .

I think there was around ten dropped of the panel a few from ashbourne one from cilles and one from summerhill. A few shock decisions in my opinion.

From what I hear all u17 players have been cut bar Conor Nash and Eanna Kelly Lynch. Both deserving of the place on the panel btw.

Can someone explain to me how James Conlon was deemed not good enough to make the minor squad ? He scored 1.14 over two matches (Div 1 MFL/Div 2 A league) over the weekend. There is not a more natural underage forward in the county than this kid. It looks like if you are not six foot and 14 plus stone there's no place for you at this level. Management have got this one wrong !

St Colmcilles Ziggy.

I've yet to see him play adult football but judging by the attached match report I've no doubt he's making the transmission with ease.
I'm pretty sure he's minor again next year.

Perhaps there are other reasons why he is not on the panel?

Maybe so Ziggy ........ but I can't think of a better forward around in his age bracket.

Re James Conlon. Saw him play in two of MFL matches - he is too light this year and slows up the game when he gets ball. He is very skilful and with improved conditioning should be starting next year.

Im shocked at some of these comments, these lads are all still very young regardless of play adult football. they read what's posted here too. The county board picked their man to manager and select a panel for the year it should be respected. Naming young players should be stopped. Im sure the management team have there reasons for not picking him, which im sure wasn't easy for either management or the player. Have respect

Agree, less negativity and focus should be on getting behind the team and less focus on individuals. The are Minors, Underage players who are still developing!

A bit wide of the mark there.. Only one Dunboyne player on starting 15. Thought like yourself that there would be a couple more.
