So lads, big weekend coming up,d-day for lots of clubs....

Who will make up the last 10 ??

My predictions.

Nobber v Clann na nGael..Nobber to win this & the group.

Cortown V Kilmainham..Could be a tough battle but i expect Kilmainham to have a few points to spare.

St Michael's V Donaghmore/Ashbourne..Michaels will be disappointed if they can"t dispose of D/A second team at this stage of championship, michaels to win.

Trim V Ballivor....Winner take all game and i expect the Town team to advance to q/f,trim by a few.

Dunderry V Castletown...one team improving the other going backways, dunderry to make knockouts.

Ratoath V St Ultan's...ratoath to make it 5 out of 5 even though the game means nothing to them.

St. Colmcille's V Drumbaragh...could be a tight affair with drumbarragh trying to avoid a relegation play off but i would expect cilles to win and top group. However there is usually one shock in each round and this might be it...MIGHT.

Oldcastle V Longwood..Dont know what has gone wrong in Longwood, that win against drumbarragh will probably save them from relegation play off because oldcastle will win this one

Ballinabrackey V Syddan..Two teams who usually peak this time of the year,Mentally the bracks have already qualified and Syddan must win tp progress, however the bracks won"t want the play-off route, will be a tough tight affair but my beloved bracks should make it straight into q/f and give me a nice birthday present.

Nobber -vs- Clann na nGael: Disappointing result for Nobber against Kilmainham last time out but this should be a warm up for the quarter finals for them. Clanns have had a very disappointing year and with nothing to play for in this game Nobber should sew up top spot in the group, but maybe not as comfortably as some may think - NOBBER
Cortown -vs- Kilmainham: Kilmainham having a very decent year with a quarter final to look forward to. Cortown have a solitary win to their name from round one and had a very poor league. They won't trouble Kilmainham who should win pulling up - KILMAINHAM
St Michael's -vs- Donaghmore/Ashbourne: Winner takes all here. Don/Ash are a good outfit at this level and have troubled everyone in the group even though they lost 2 games. They'll put up a good fight but will just fall short against the Mick's who probably could've beaten the Clanns by more last time out - ST. MICHAEL'S
Trim -vs- Ballivor: This is the time of year Ballivor lose their touch and concentrate on the hurling. It's winner takes all here and even though Trim are no great shakes they will dispose of Ballivor easily enough with the class and power of Toher (1-2 from play vs Castletown) and Heffernan (2-0) in the full forward line and make it through to the knock outs - TRIM
Dunderry -vs- Castletown: Assuming that Trim beat Ballivor, Castletown need to win by 8 points to make it through to the quarter-finals ahead of Dunderry and Ballivor on score difference. 2-1 in injury time made the scoreline against Trim look good for Castletown. Dunderry are unpredictable at the moment and should win hear to make a preliminary quarter-final - DUNDERRY
Ratoath -vs- St. Ultan's: St. Ultan's were unlucky to end up in the group of death here and even though it looks as though they'll be in a relegation dogfight they should be able to cope well enough with that. They won't trouble Ratoath minus Eamonn Wallace who already have an eye on the quarter-finals - RATOATH
St. Colmcille's -vs- Drumbaragh: Second favourites for the title St. Colmcille's will expect to breeze through this one. The question still hangs over them if they can keep it together going into the business end of the campaign and Drumbaragh will be a decent test for them. Ultimatey Drumbaragh will be going into the relegation playoff but will hold their own against Clann an nGael when it comes to it - ST. COLMCILLE'S
Oldcastle V Longwood: Two off form teams here. Longwood are out and assuming the Cille's beat Drumbaragh they're safe from relegation for another year. Oldcastle have a realistic chance of making it through but need Syddan to lose to the Bracks. They won't trouble anyone if they do make it through even through the might win here - OLDCASTLE
Ballinabrackey -vs- Syddan: Tie of the round here. Syddan won convincingly against Oldcastle last time out may be coming good at just the right time and one point will see them safely into a preliminary quarter final. A loss will do even if Oldcastle lose to Longwood. A win however is not beyond doubt against the Bracks. A loss may even be better for the Bracks as they would avoid Ratoath in a quarter final. To tough to call a winner here - DRAW

IFC
Nobber v Clann Na nGael. Nobber for me
Cortown v Kilmainham. Kilmainham to win
St. Michaels v D/Ashbourne. Big game for Mikes maybe they edge it but they need to pick up
Syddan v Ballinabrackey; Think it be end of the road for Syddan
St Colmcilles v Drumbaragh. Cilles to take beating and Drumbaragh wont do that
Longwood v Oldcastle. Longwood have done enough to stay Intermediate Oldcastle will win
Ratoath v St Ultans; Ultans to join Drumbargh and Clan na Gael for Relegation by losing here
Ballivor v Trim Big battle big deal Ballivor to do better but still Trim will be hopeing. Hopes to be dashed Ballivor to win
Dunderry v Castletown; Dunderry should do enough to win but will they Castletown my pick

May as well try my hand at the last round:

Nobber v Clann Na nGael - Nobber will guarantee top spot by winning here
Cortown v Kilmainham - Kilmainham to have too much for Cortown especially as Cortown are safe
St. Michaels v D/Ashbourne - D/A have done well in comfortably securing their status once again. Michael's to have too much for them here.
Syddan v Ballinabrackey - If this was the first round, I'd be tipping Syddan. But the Bracks have a head of steam now and will meet Ratoath in the quarters by winning here.
St Colmcilles v Drumbaragh - Colmcille's to send the Drums into a relegation playoff with a win here.
Longwood v Oldcastle - Longwood were awful last time out. They need a win to guarantee safety. Can't see them getting one here but they'll be safe regardless I feel. Oldcastle to win and make the playoff.
Ratoath v St Ultans - Ratoath are safely through in first place. Think this will be closer than a lot think but Ratoath should still win and preserve their 100% record.
Ballivor v Trim - Ballivor only managed 5 points last time out and I think Trim will have too much for them here.
Dunderry v Castletown - Was impressed with Dunderry as they stayed close to Ratoath for long periods despite being a man down. I believe they'll win here but Castletown will be safe thanks to their win over Ultan's in Round 1.

Nobber v Clann Na nGael: Nobber will win easily enough here
Cortown v Kilmainham. heard: Kilmainham might be down a few but will still hold on for a win here
St. Michaels v D/Ashbourne: the Michaels aren't looking too bad lately and think they will get another win here
Syddan v Ballinabrackey: Bracks too strong for a dissapointing Syddan side
St Colmcilles v Drumbaragh: Colmcilles will be too strong for a dodgy Drumaragh side
Longwood v Oldcastle: Oldcastle are coming well again and reckon they'll get a win
Ratoath v St Ultans: Ratoath, could see a upset here but it is unlikely
Ballivor v Trim: Baillivor are looking well this year and could be strong contenders, another win for them against Trim
Dunderry v Castletown; Tough one to call to be honest, I think Catletown could go against the favourites amd grab a win

Looking at the stats from the round games, this is a championship for ratoath to lose. Some interesting match ups. here is my take on it:

Preliminary: Castletown v Syddan - Castletown
the winners play Nobber - Nobber
Ratoath v Ballinabrackey -Ratoath
St Colmcilles v St Michaels - Colmcilles
Trim v Kilmainham - Trim

See it's a two legged affair in the Ratoath - Bracks game according to Hoganstand.

5 out of 9 last week but as the only one who is serious about predictions I will go with having a go at the 1st big North Meath derby we are sure of another one with the winners playing Nobber next week

Almost 75 years to the day that Tom Keegan lost his life in an IFC game between the sides a game played in Rathkenny that Castletown won 1-7 to 1-3 we have the Prelimary Quarter Final.
Syddan have recovered from a poor start to make it this far with an unlikely but deserved draw with Ballinabrackey last week. They will look to Daire Rowe to get them past their neighbours as a large North Meath crowd will desend on Meath Hills excellant venue for the 1st titanic struggle of the day as their is the little matter of Dublin v Mayo in Croke Park later. The form of Ian Cuuran has also helped Syddan who were unlucky last year to lose to Rathoath at quarter Final stage after extra time. The addition of the 3 Garland brothers from St Colmcille has helped to off set the loss of Thomas and Brian Dillon although I think Syddan people would rather if Tossies sons where still available. They have fine young players in Mooney, Fedigan and Traynor along with Rowe although it seems like Jack Reid is still out injury.
Castletowns crazy 11 point win last week has propelled them to this stage mad really that Dunderry could not manage to just lose by 8 points but Castletown have lively forwards and both Smiths, Rossie and Finney can score and if Finnerety is fit that is another dangerman.
Gerard Farrelly should give Castletown that bit of extra class around the middle but dont discount the ageing Stephan Dillon who will battle hard for the hour. Syddan have interestly added Cormac Rowe at full back to give a bit of extra pace and another elder statesman Sean Malone if he can stay on the pitch for the hour at centre half.
Castletown will post Joey Carry on Rowe the younger and he will curtail Syddans great young hope somewhat but I fear Castletown half backs will find it a tough afternoon otherwise

I will opt for the Daddies greater scoring threat to progress..... maybe after extra time...... or even after a replay next week

Ah the great glenny is back from under his rock,,,your like a liverpool fan, nowhere to be seen when losing :) :) :)

I predict the great glenny will disappear again for a few days after syddan win a tight game today in meath hill.

Syddan by 3.

Untrue I always post my results .... I am afraid you have to read me again after my original feeling a few months back that the daddies would not make the semis this year,,,, I am beginning to feel like a revival is on .... Far the best team today Syddan not at the races
