What is wrong with longwood.? Club is in serious trouble from what I have heard. Why have they been so bad this year?

That scoreline doesnt look good for them at all, could be junior shortly based on that reading. Maybe hurling is now number 1 for them? I think Ballinabrackey could put it upto Ratoath in next round if thats how the draw goes, all dependant on last round obviously. Nobber Ballinabrackey final?

whats the story with 2 teams finishing level on points...is it points difference or head to head that determines who finishes above.

I heard its head to head and that points difference only matters when 3 teams or more finish level.

Anybody know the exact rules ?

No match report from the Ratoath game in the Chronicle..

Did anyone go and if so,who played well and scored etc?

lutch - you are correct.
Head to head counts first and score difference only comes into play if 3 or more teams are level on points.

Lutchie boy your spot on there,it's head to head with two teams level on points but with 3 teams head to head goes and it goes to points, bracks are moving well I hear, care to speculate?

Look boys, when a intermediate team has 5 senior squad members and 3 junior you would be expecting them to win in a canter,if any team will beat them im sure it will be us,but you have to give ratoath credit,a fantastic club with great talent. We have to play a very good syddan team saturday week,if we win its us V ratoath in Q/F,If we loose its play off route.

However we fear nobody at this level :).

Barring a miracle it looks as if St Ultans and Drumbargh will join Clann na nGael in the relegation play-off. What a dogfight this will be to stay up...3 teams who should really be doing a lot better than they are in this grade!

meathmaster...i think longwood are the team who could go down, really struggling.

I know they're struggling but they've beat Drumbargh so they'll win out on the head to head! Drumbargh will have to beat St Colmcilles to drag Longwood into it which looks unlikely to say the least!

St colmcilles ratoath and nobber are looking good for the business end. Balnabrackey have over achieved by playing defensively and will be found out again this year. Ballinloygh exposed their weaknesses in their full back line last year.

ziggy, Joey Wallace did very well yet again with 5 points from play. Defensively, Conor McGill was outstanding and Paul Flaherty (who brings the average age of the team up a few years when he plays) did very well. We were missing Eamonn Wallace who's stateside and Gavin McGowan who was carrying an injury from the U21 hurlers.

Game was vetru similar to the last few games. Nip and tuck in the first half against a strong wind when we struggled to break down Ballivor's defence and it was only 5 points to 2 at the break. Second half, we came out strongly and tagged on a good few points in the first ten minutes to give ourselves some breathing space. We had a scare when Ballivor hit the post but Cian O'Brien got our goal and the game petered out.
Given we've first place sewn up, it'll be interesting to see if we rest some players against Ultans.

Lutch, too right ye don't fear anyone. I personally am fearing the Bracks in the quarters should ye win against Syddan. Last year's semi final was something to behold.

Will Eamonn be back for any of this campaign?

How did McMahon do?

All depends on how far we go whether Eamonn's back. I would assume he'd be back in early September at the latest.

McMahon did well. Flawless from frees and got some from play as well I think. Could have had a goal but the keeper made a great save. Can't remember exactly how much he scored.

Surprised at the lack of a match report from our side.

Ya I expected it to be on the Chronicle at least!

Is mcMahon playing corner forward for Ratoath at present?

At the moment we're just playing McMahon and Joey Wallace in the full forward line. Conor Rooney was further out the field as 15 on Sunday.
