Maybe a stupid question but is Joey Wallace injured that he only came on in the semi final brian (Meath) - Posts: 1954 - 23/09/2015 13:46:18 1791349 Link 0 |
joey wallace had a stress fracture to a bone on his foot, plaster only came off 3 weeks ago, probably not 100% but should be perfect for final with another few weeks recovery. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 1047 - 23/09/2015 14:44:10 1791399 Link 0 |
Is it worth Nobber while togging out for the final considering that they are playing against half a county team-should their opponents be winning by 20 point+!! Seriously though the best of luck to both teams in the final and may the best team win browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 23/09/2015 14:44:55 1791401 Link 0 |

As a neutral I will be there and to see NOM take on Dunboyne, but you really would expect Ratoath come through, thats no disrespect to Nobber.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 23/09/2015 17:13:11 1791517 Link 0 |
I've no connection to either team but nearly hope Ratoath win just so people will stop with the stupid "half the county team and they're only intermediate" line. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1646 - 23/09/2015 17:53:47 1791543 Link 0 |

from being at both semi finals Cilles would be the second best inter team by a mile. They will win it next year. The skill and pace the game was played at the other night would have been frightening to most senior teams. Nobbers forwards will get zero space and will find it hard to score but best of luck to both teams pretender (Meath) - Posts: 358 - 24/09/2015 13:41:14 1791798 Link 0 |
Pretender, are there any Cilles players other than GR that should be on county panel? oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 24/09/2015 14:14:24 1791814 Link 0 |
If Ratoath are promoted I think that it would be good for Meath football in general. Nothing against Nobber but a lot of theor players have already played senior. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 24/09/2015 17:33:50 1791981 Link 0 |
Ziggy - I don't see them as contenders for the senior championship next year- long way to go and a bit of experience required to win senior. I may be wrong though. There is a huge gap between winning a couple of u 21's and winning a senior championship. Some folk do not realise that there is still a gap between every division /grade. Now every now and then an exceptional team may come through, however judging by what I have been watching I do not see too many exceptional teams. Some posters get annoyed when facts are produced -they call it stupid!!! browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 24/09/2015 17:41:56 1791987 Link 0 |
No only graham Reilly is county senior standard. Maybe some young chillies players in the future but Reilly makes them tick. Nobber could spring a surprise. Expect ratoath to do it seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 343 - 24/09/2015 17:44:30 1791989 Link 0 |
Cilles would have a few that would make the Meath Junior team at the moment. They are a well drilled team that work to a good system abd Reilly is the piece of class they have. They seem to have a very young team also so with development squad some could be brough in. But the one caveat is they must have the size/pace mix correct. Number 6 and one of the midfielders from Ratoath ( O Brien i think) were the two stand out player IMO pretender (Meath) - Posts: 358 - 24/09/2015 17:47:53 1791995 Link 0 |

Disagree Brownscows...I think in the last number of years intermediate champions have held their own in the senior ranks, one of the semi finals this year have 2 teams who have only come up in the last 4 years and na fianna have already reached a final.I would fancy ratoath to win a senior championship next year and if not the year after, definitely a club going places and could very well win an all ireland intermediate championship for the club & county. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 1047 - 24/09/2015 19:52:42 1792048 Link 0 |

Of course,there is a big match to be played for Ratoath first.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 25/09/2015 08:47:27 1792153 Link 0 |
thelutch-you may disagree that's fine, however records and fact prove otherwise. Any team that wins the intermediate is good and that goes for any grade and of course they will hold their own and more. However as I said there is a big gap between the winners of intermediate and winners of senior and I am not aware of any team winning the intermediate and winning the senior the following year. I would agree with oldsam two up two down would liven things up. Na Fianna are a combination and the have freshened up the senior championship big time and have performed consistently well in league and championship. I would like to see the Kerry model-every player with a chance to compete in senior (3 juniors and 1 inter mediate plus junior). Cannot understand why that, or similar proposal was not passed as their are more junior clubs/intermediate clubs than senior ones. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 25/09/2015 10:15:15 1792197 Link 0 |
