Roscommon v Meath

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Looking at that Meath line up it seems two of the forwards will play as sweepers and the aim will be to win a low scoring contest. Negative approach some will say but at this time of year does it matter how the points are picked up?

This is the same team that lined out v Kildare the only exception is Carroll for Wallace. Harnan lined out at 11 but played deeper

Hard to see us scoring a whole lot, looks like we are going to keep it tight and hope to be on the right side of a low scoring affair. Good to see Carroll back

We played well against kildare 2nd half but kildare are very poor basic silks very bad foot pass worryingly poor , kicking ball straight into kildare hands which led to scores , we e have to keep the ball like all good teams do, players seem to panic and feel they need to get rid of d ball the minute they get it. The day of kicking d ball straight down the pitch are gone , cross field angled balls are the only way to keep possession, we did show heart and pride the last day but still a long way off must do better at foot pass its the only way around d swarm defences

I hope Meath Management don't sleep walk in the task that awaits Sunday they should expect a defense setup similar Donegal style. even tough Meath where poor against Kildare there was signs that the meath defense had some structure to, there seem to be more of a game plan in place losing G reilly our main attacker as in him cares the ball from deep and runs at defense meant other guys than to step up i think having Keoghan and menton in half back line adds to attack as well, ans if E Wallace comes on he could perform a similar role as G reilly. and hopefully the will be a improvement in the forward line wining 50/50 we come sneak it. lets hope anyway

All the best to our lads today, it was a tough day in Galway but hopefully the win against Kildare will put a bit of wind in our sails, C'MON DA ROYALS!!!

Game off..

A real pity the players travelled last night and many Meath fans would be in Roscommon. Also, not much of a gap in the calender to play this game..

Just looked at it..

Meath will have no game in 4 weeks and then have to play 5 games in 5 weeks

it was raining solid for a hour at 10 than sleet and then it bucketed down snow for a hour it would have been tougher put them out on it ziggy and probably dangerous 5 games in 5 weeks spaced out and we have about 3 to 5 lads that ll play u 21 in between as well but it is what it is ild prefer the lads from both sides playing on a safe pitch and going to work the next day than taking a chance.

Spoke to someone who says. Kiltoom is for for a game today (although I can't verify that).
Should counties not have an alternative venue in place for these situations, like kiltoom or somewhere.

Puts huge pressure on the fixtures now.
