Are Meath gone soft?

To be fair it is not right to say that if we don't win it is the managements fault, are we as good as Kerry or Dublin etc? We have 6 under 21s starting, you cannot say before the game is played that it is all the managements fault if we lose.

Soft ! That was LAST year ! This year we can expect a more mature, experienced approach from all on the sideline particularly. We have had the opportunity to build and learn from mistakes. That is what will bring us promotion !! After all this is Div. 2 not Div.1 Watch for a massive improvement in team spirit, and morale generally this year ! Meath to win by 4 or 5 at least!

Last time we were in salthill we played a shocker werent hungry for the ball or nothing and we ended up having a woeful division 2.
I wouldnt mind if meath lost aslong as there hungry. there are 5/6 teams in ireland will beat meath most days. But galway are not one of them if we are hungry and play together we should win. we have more gifted indivuals than galway. And if they play together we will win but who knows with meath football the past few years not alot of hunger been shown

Galways first choice championshio team would be Donoghe Moore, Hanley, Duane, Silke, O' Donnell, Bradshaw, O Curraoin, Flynn, Sice, Lundy, Walsh, Cummins, Conroy and Damien Comer so basically what ye are seeing tomorrow with Galway is 6 players who would make the championship side. It looks like Meath are missing quite a few themselves but Galway are really scraping the bottom of the barrell with a few of these. I'd be surprised if yere not good enough to beat this Galway side.

Id agree to a certain extent that a lot depends on management, set up, game plan (having one) and a plan b, subs at right time, and heart and passion from the players. That's it , management cant put ball over bar, but with the panel of players i think if management have their end done the lads will do the business.
Hon the Royal.

Really can't see Meath being promoted from this division, too lightweight at the moment. Probably as well as we are still a way behind division 1 standard judging by last nights games. Should finish in the top half but not in the promotion places I think.

This year appears to be the weakest Division 2 there has been for some time. If we don't get promotion this year it will be hard in the future as there will be a few heavyweights from the current Division one down in Division two

If we do well around the middle we will win the game, but Galway are stronger in midfield than any other position this weekend.

Meath making mistakes in the backline and basically given scores away.

Very poor first half from Meath struggling all over the field.Galway getting far too much space, dominating at midfield,Newman not playing well, but at the same time,he isn't getting much support..

Galway 1-6 Meath 0-5 HT

Disgraceful display against an average team, everyone is to blame,I told ye we should be happy with staying up.

Joey Wallace and McMahon are far too lightweight for this level and don't score. We keep playing half backs in the full back line and this is clearly not working,I don't see any progression..

soft is not the word for it. too many players living on the reputations of previous players. we dont have mentally strong players anymore. dublin took their foot off the pedal & nearly let us back into it and loads on here think we're great. very very disapointing to lose to a galway team who are missing a lot of their 1st team & will be nowhere near an all ireland this year or next. they toyed with us today.management & players seriously need to look at themselves. we're years away from winning even a leinster at this rate.
