Pity we are missing Gillespie and Kev Reilly, physical players with experience.

Royalio, Under Mick O'Dowd our away form in the league has improved markedly. Last year we lost once, that day in Clones which I try not to remember and the same the year before.

Yes away has improved home record has not been as good. To be honest home or away shouldn't make a difference win at all costs.
Attitude has to be right, players must be totally focused, fitness has to be at a premium, management must be at their very peak.
No more excuses, third league in charge we have to get promoted.
No negatives from me, this is a weak enough div 2, no reason we cant win it.
Hon the Royal

Royaldunne Agreed Attitude is vital all round....no excuses..[injuries etc. every team has to deal with that]. we are no exception..we simply have to be promoted this year.

Don't think promotion is essential, relegation(not been) is essential..

dont buy into the injuries claim anymore , weve been dogged with "injuries" for how many seasons ?Mod should have in place the required subs to fill in these roles, bar one or two .As ziggy says avoiding relagation is a no brainer ,however i think its sink or swim for Mick and promotion is the aim , although he is now our longest serving manger in a long time .

Let's remember - Meath were playing in Div.3 in 2012 and therefore away games against weaker teams.
And we have received a few loses at home too.

Injuries are injuries every team always has injuries it's part of sport. Too many excuses and reliance on players who are injured time and time again with many ifs and buts over the last number of years. Not good enough.

I personally think Meath can be just as suspectible to relegation as they are for promotion. Time will tell

Yes id agree it could go either way. But one thing is i feel too many people would be happy with mid table. I wont be.
With the exception of Monaghan that was a shocking div 3, this is the weakest div 2 in two years. Mid table just wont cut it for me. Promotion.

Yes too many ifs, buts and excuses .Agreed its sink or swim this year. Not too much to expect that we get promotion to top 8 and div 1. Meath football will benefit from that.I am at a loss to understand how we could settle for anything less this year,if we want to be objective in measuring progress from last year .

Away games in 2013 while in Division 3 were against Monaghan, Roscommon, Antrim and Wicklow.

Indeed i too am very excited. The past few years can be put behind us with promotion, and that starts with a win in salt hill.
No more excuses, either #### or get off the pot.

We owe galway. I hope we are quick out of the traps and tear galway asunder.

Ziggy in all my years following Meath football that game against Galway was the most surreal ive been at.
I think un fairness to Bert he referring to the last one in salthill .
Promotion is the goal.
Any word on the league panel? I mean is there a 30 man list? Leaving 2 or so open for a return

I have no idea on the panel to be honest, haven't heard a thing!

I know I have mentioned it a few times, but I hear Alan Forde is training to O'Mahonys, bit odd that he hasn't been bring into the squad, unless there is something else going on.
