Any word on how orourke, cillian o Sullivan, gillespie, eammon Wallace are progreesing. Was speaking to a very cute Kerry man who is well in down in the Kerry circles who lives in Dublin part-time and attends a lot of meath and Dublin games and training sessions. He said that he rates Gillespie in the the top 4 midfielders in the country and is vital to meaths chances this year.He also said that meath under odowd are going in right direction but they got to get promotion this year.

Gillespie will be fit for mid-league
Wallace will be for the the first or second game.
O'Sullivan might be back for championship, but would hardly make the panel now.

Longford ran the legs off themselves in the second half was good to see Meath aim for a win. Think they should avoid defeat this weekend. A crack at the dubs early in the year would show how fit they really are

Delighted to see McGill starting at full back again. When it comes to the crunch, Keogan should be corner back along with one of Judge/ Brennan or Carty. Davy Dalton looks to have bulked up a bit and is in with a good shout for a wing back spot. Nobody seems to have mentioned the fact that although Menton was wearing no. 7, he was essentially playing as a third midfielder. It gave us another option for the kick-outs and he got forward a lot as well. Queeney took his scores well when he was moved into the forwards, Toner looked decent in the first half and Rúairí O'Dowd looks a good prospect too, a very skillful footballer. Joey Wallace was again very impressive after being introduced. Used his pace to great effect, took his two scores well and basically brought a different dimension to the attack.

Early reports may not be too optimistic regarding management improvement after 3 Byrne cup games. However, we still cannot expect too much when trying new players etc. My concerns mainly are around physical and mental preparation by management when league commences with a settled panel more or less.
Too early for judgement yet, but not too early too expect a massive improvement in preparation to cover all the key areas by management. Best of luck to MOD and Co in this make or break year .
