I wonder could Power be an option for corner back for the senior side?

Corefan

If he has a hamstring injury he should be resting, would also explain why he took a shot early rather than running into the space as someone said.

Westmeath a very mediocre team at best

To put confim how mediocre they are. With more or less having the same team Westmeath were well beaten by Wicklow in Hastings cup and last week longford bet Wicklow by 17 points.

Greenwood Yes indeed very frustrating to see players running with the head down , rushing shots too quickly, and not looking up for other players. Even more annoying is the tendency for forwards not using the open spaces to collect a pass. I could not understand how Joey Wallace would not use his speed here ,rather than"marking" a defender. This type of player is not being used properly, same with the seniors, He was taken off because he did not or was not allowed to play to his strenghts...his speed. All of these issues can and should be addressed in coaching sessions. Agreed well done to Hannigan for that great save.

Mr Pundit

I don't think Westmeath are great either, but I wouldn't look too much into the Hastings Cup

It is very disappointing but was half expected, too many injuries and lads on senior panel, look this competition is one only lip service has been paid to by Meath, it has never been seen as a major objective, perhaps it is time to change this attitude, anyway we move on to the main event senior promotion.

Crikey---poor stuff. Very disappointed with this result. We really need to be doing something at this level to build for the future.

Gah

From the the lack of posts on this thread today following on from last nights defeat to Kildare I assume the majority of posters did not make it to last nights game. The Meath attendance was shockingly poor last night which was a pity. I arrived late and cursed the fact that this game was not fixed for Parnell Park. How did the Leinster Council think it was ok to fix this match for Portlaoise. All Meath support has to drive through the length of Kildare to this venue. Even if the fixture was for 8pm then maybe some Meath support might just about made throw-in if they left straight after work. By the way I am not making excuses for defeat better team won but surely for a mid-week fixture the venue should be NUETRAL in every sense of the word.
