Its a positive step, at least management have acknowledged there is a problem in the fitness/conditioning area. But think Brady will still be there. Its now up to Micko to get attitude and sprit in squad right.

Will there be a new coach brought into coach how to play football, surely strength and conditioning is not why we are so poor.

Don't know much about him but is it enough? We also need a addition on sideline someone with a astute football brain. Hopefully that announcement is in the pipeline.

Lads he was involved during the championship this summer. I think he was will be focussing on getting them being a bit more explosive over the first five yards mainly because that was sorely lacking in some players

Welcome aboard Ciaran

If he was involved last year why is he being paraded as a newbie ??
We should be looking for someone who can teach the art of giving and receiving hits .

This man was not involved last year to my knowledge, never heard of him being involved before in any capacity, too much negativity here lads everyone has been calling for a new fitness person in the set up, we've got one and still some are not happy, let's give it a chance lads I think everyone involved in the team from players to management to back room staff to supported know 2015 is a really important year in terms of the teams future so let's see what transpires certainly the work appears well underway

I agree,we need to to support the managament team, some here WANT them to fail, therefore they want the team to fail, which is a disgrace really.Give them the year and if there is no improvement then people can complain.

Absolutely agree we need to support team and management. But totally disagree that is done blindly. No one including any part of management is above criticism nor should be. Once its constructive and not derogatory then I think us the fans have a right to ask questions. Now I for the first time in very long time am very wary of this coming year. I don't see promotion as a given. Management must and in fairness seem to be putting in a new format. I more so than anyone want this to be a successful year.

Define success ? the majority of Meath supporters are to be honest deluded, Meath will do well to hold Div 2 status

Jesus Analyst, some of us are optimistic, but you're patently pessimistic. lucky to hold onto our division 2 status,... I just checked my calender and its not April fools day!!

Being honest about things some of the teams in our division have new managers with new ideas (Galway, Down) and some were just promoted (Rossies, Cavan) we're in the habit of beating Kildare and Westmeath and i believe we have 4 matches in navan, so if we're not looking to gain promotion there's no use in trying. A realistic achievement this season is
1) Promotion to division 1
2) A leinster final where we perform
3) get into a quarter final

We're comfortably a top 8 - 12 teams in the country and if we're not pushing on towards getting into the top 8 whats the point of competing. If in the next 2 years we could get to qaurter finals and maybe a semi final that would be considered progress by me. The last three years we've been knocked out at the final qualifier round, and this is no longer good enough.

However and i've said this on other threads, Mick needs to pick his 15 players and player them together consistently. None of this keoghan at 6, then 2 then 3 or likewise for Menton at 6, 3 9 and 4. Play the players in positions let them build and understanding as a unit and lets see how we progress.

ON Ciaran, from what i was told he came in after the league and before championship and was working with the team on their explosiveness. Trying to get their speed off the mark up.

I would be very surprised if we got promotion regardless of who is in charge..

You are right to a degree.I think we will do very well to promote, but I would be surprised if we were relegated too.I see us finishing 4th or 5th.But it is the championship were we can progress. We are not going to be challenging for All-Irelands,but we should be making the last 8 IMO.I fully agree that management, cannot be playing certain players in different positions, almost from game to game,as a player, you cannot have consistent performances playing this way,and the team cannot gel either.Simply play players in their best positions.

I am not being negative, just being honest, I said last year we would do well to hold Div 2 and we did, I actually think that with some of our experienced players leaving or just becoming that bit older and slower that we will find it very tough in Div 2

Look after a successful enough first year with plenty of mistakes, we stagnated this one and we made the same mistakes. that to me was the worrying aspect of it all. We didn't learn from our mistakes. This year has to be different or we are just going around in circles. I've said this before and I'll say it again , with the exception of 2 players man for man we are on a par talent wise with the likes of Donegal armagh Tyrone. The difference is they cut their cloth to measure. I don't care if we play 15 men behind the ball or go all out attack. I'll give a prime example of playing a team to beat a team. V armagh not to start biggy was crazy, we knew how armagh would play we needed players to kick points from 45 to have a chance. Now no doubt he had shocker against dubs but that was always going to be a different proposition. Also and no disrespect to the lad but to bring on young wallace wwhen we needed a goal was just surreal. These are the basic mistakes im talking about. You play your best players to beat the opposition in a system that the opponents aren't comfortable with, that sometimes means you do not play your best 15. Horses for courses.
