Pretty much spot on,we cannot afford to lose to any of the teams we play(before a possible Leinster Final),then if we do get to it,we need to put up fight. We made Dublin look better than they were last season..

Won't matter who we get unless major lessons were learned from this year Keep doing the same things the same way,and you get the same result as this year...failure !!

No bull totally agree. Royalbadger. Firstly I think dubs are never at full tilt before Leinster final , our defeat of them in 10is just oone example, Wexford Kildare could have beat. hem in previous years, and even laois this year. And to add to that if we did get beat we'd have a chance to regroup in qualifiers which IMO are easier to take than after loosing a final.
Finally this thing of putting it up to them? Is really annoying, we have seemingly accepted moral victories as the pinnacle of our year, 6 point loss to dubs is seen as a giod year

Hope we get the chance to play the Dubs, wouldn't assume anything based on last two years. Could easily be turned over in semi
Any new of changes in MOD backroom team or are we going to do the same things again this year?

Ziggy I agree the whole thing is gone stale the same teams playing each other year after year . I would do it a little different than your suggestion . I would have 8 groups of 4 , one from each of the 4 divisions at the end of the previous years league.Every team in the group would play 3 games 1 at home 1 away and 1 at a neutral venue . After the group games the top two in each group (16) would go on and play for the Sam Maguire . The bottom 2 teams in each group (16) would go on and play for another cup . This would give every team at least 4 games and to win Sam you would have to play 7 and the lesser teams a chance of winning a national competition . This would also encourage teams to try and improve their position in the league so they would get an easier draw . The championship could be run over a shorter time . It could start in the first weekend in May with 16 games with another 16 2 weeks later and so on . I think something like this would be brilliant and fair . Take last nights draw. in Ulster Donegal v Tyrone in the pre lim winner to play Armagh in a Qfinal with the winner of this possibly play Derry in a semifinal , all these games will have being played before Kerry or Cork start taking the championship serious . There is no need for the provincial championships any more the O,Byrne cup McKenna cup and the other 2 provincial competitions should be the so called provincial competitions . I would love to see something like this happen and I believe it would be the making of the GAA , but and a big BUT the dinosaurs of the GAA will never allow it happen .

Same as last year storm to leinster final , lads getting carried away saying what a great job micko has done. Get humiliated by dublin for third year running , get humiliated in last 12 , and have guys saying micko needs 5 years , and blaming players rather than stating the obvius.
Predictable.

Leinster Final and a stronger showing are the minimum. Then a quarter final or semi final through the backdoor. We need a good strong league. Its a tough year ahead of Micko but I'll be there come the O'Byrne and Fitzsimons Cups full of hope that the glory days will return

Lets all be clear here but Meath should progress to another Leinster final.. it will be 4 final defeats in a row to Dublin. Unless meath can but 5-6 goals past them and beat them all over the field (which I cannotnsee happening)
Meath will go out a fortnight later and lose the last round qualifier (again) and that will be that for 2015. Management will be parted with and Meath will slip back further.
On the other hand, if meath dont make the leinster final, it will be deemed a disaster and management will be let go.
Quarter Final place needs to be reached at the very least.

On a separate note: 2015 will mark 20 years since Meath played a Leinster match in Meath. An absolute joke in my opinion.

Royallo 11 agree with your first line....Meath will get to Leinste final again...and then ....nothing.! Management were miles short of the required standard in all the key areas this year...no question..Everything else flows from that simple fact in the modern game..From where we are now a dramatic improvement in this area is essential. For now NOTHING else matters. If this is not addressed NOW forget about ANY progress next year.incidentally that is coming from a supporter who favoured this management team be given a chance to show even promise. Unfortunately i have seen NO evidence of promise or improvement through lessons learned.
Really other matters like what players may or may not be available is not relevant until we have a capable management in place. I hope this manager and his team have identified their deficiencies ,and asked for help. I hope the CB have questioned and challenged these plans . I hope these objectives are clearly laid out, measurable, and achievable. I am totally convinced that without this approach all else is a waste of time and resourses . That is what the CB is there for to carefully use resourses, and amend plans as required if those resourses are being wasted.

Lads I agree that management wasn't great this year, they tried to copy Dublin's all action style and it was abandoned early on in the league leaving us with poor preparation for the championship.

However the management didn't roll over and give up against the Dubs, the players done that and make no mistake about it. The lads we have on the county panel are probably the most talented players we have in the county but heart wise? well honestly I know a few local lads who play astro during the week with more fighting spirit than some of our Meath boys.

Blaming MOD is the easy option, replace him and we may be better off tactics wise but it won't change the players we have at our disposal, when the pressure comes on they'll fold, that's what they've always done and until they show some fight then that's what they'll always do.

To have any chance of championship progression we need to dominate div 2 period .

I like many others have my reservations about management. In year two I think most of us expected them to learn from year one but it didn't happen. I do still think there has to be at least one senior addition to set up if mod wants another year. If not I think we will have to part ways at end of season.

Ye definitely need another season in charge and most importantly they need that season with everybody's backing, you can't do a good job if people are pulling against you or worse still, already have your fate decided before a ball is even kicked. If at the end of next season little or no progress is made then yes maybe it will be time to part ways but never write off a year until it's actually over.

Absolutely agree they have to be given this year. But without sounding negative I do think there has to be a addition this year. In particular the fitness department. We are one of the most unfit teams in country. That has to change. But yes we all must get behind team

Yes fitness was a major concern, we finished our last 3 championship games as by far the weaker team, that's a real area of concern. Both management and players need to put that right very quickly because if your team isn't physically up for the challenge then everything else becomes trivial.
