Yeah was a poor game, no real stand out players from either side. Expected Ratoath to win it out but maybe O Mahonys could cause a surpise after seeing last nights game

Heard two things about the game. 1. Weather destroyed it, 2. McMahon's goal was the difference

Who got sent off? (for which team?)if for ratoath, was it a straight red-suspension?

Who are the favs for the final on the back of the 2 semi's?

Jaysus Lads,
At this game last night horrendous weather for football. Ratoath better team and deserved the win played very intelligently when reduced to 14. Have to disagree with last poster in that I thought there were a couple of excellent individual performances most notably Brian McMahon. Took his goal brilliantly and his last point from an almost impoosible angle was as good as you'll see anywhere.

Well done to Ratoath , great to grind out the win, I felt Joey was excellent in the second half where he dropped in the HF line and used possession well. From what I Seen the sending off was for two yellow cards, the first one for dissent and the second one for dissent aswell as far as I could see, he owed his team mates a few pints as they dug him out of a hole.
Weather was horrendous
Thougth Doody played very well betwwen the sticks for Ratoath, McGill , Wallace and Bryany best for Ratoath

Red
Was it not Bobby O'Brien who was sent off?

theRED I dont think it was mcgown that was sent off as he was in full back. it was the player who slammed the ball against the ground and bounced back into his own face, only fair for that silly carryon.

who will be the main players for Navan seeing as they won this age at minor?

Was up watching the game last, very poor game but I suppose the weather was a huge factor. Ratoath grinded out the win and looked very average. Joey Wallace by far their best player holding onto the ball when needed. Dunboyne could of won it but for lots of missed chances, and putting close rage frees wide at the start of the game. I think Navan can put it up to Ratoath if they play as a team and not just use Ruairi O Coileain as the scoring option all the time. I think Ratoath are being hyped up to be a lot better then they really are, they were nothing special last night, and Dunboyne were just poor. Will be a tight final if Navan can play good team football.

Ratoathroyal ratoath won minor in 2012 against ashbourne, o mahoneys won the year before by 1 point as far as I can remember. That will give o mahoneys the mental advantage in this final if it is close at the end!

NOM won by a point in the 2010 MFC. Ratoath beat Moynalvey in 2011 and Don/Ash in 2012.

Ratoath won in 2011 and 2012. 2011 final against moynalvey who they beat in the first round of u21. NOM won it in 2010 by a point against ratoath, that ratoath team then bet NOM u21 last year by 30 odd points. 10 of that ratoath team started against dunboyne. Make of it what you will. Judging a team on last nights display isn't very fair, Ratoath always looked like they had an extra gear even when down to 14, Grinding out a win against an excellent dunboyne side who walloped summerhill in the QF without some key players is commendable. scoring was always going to be low last night, due to The conditions and Dunboyne dropping men back from minute 1 until the sending off

Ratoath should win it but not by a whole lot 1-3 points I'd say, this ratoath team have won every division one championship since under 12!! Now that's some going, Ratoath should win it because when they get to a final especially at this age they know how to deliver on the big stage, not taking anything from NOM superb outfit of players, best of luck to both teams should be a great game!

We seem to blame the weather when the standard of football is poor. The match was played on a good pitch which is suitable for winter football. One team had two senior inter county players in their attack and could only score 2 points in 30 minutes football. What does that say? Ratoath should be favourites in the final.
