Make or break at this stage. We need promotion to Division 1. All or nothing next year.

We need to be patient. I think we made progress this year. Need a couple of bigger forwards. SOR should be tried at full forward. The young talent brought in this year will have matured a bit. Try Tormey centre forward with some speedster wing men. What about full back? KR is a huge player but he is dogged with injury.

SOR

Too slow to get out and win his own ball at FF

Tormey at CHF with the likes of Forde and O'Sullivan on the wings could be interesting.Fast players, but also willing to work back

With no apparent game plan or consistency this year, how will MOD set out the team for the league? All men behind the ball? More handpassing?

We need Div 1 football. Unless we are playing these teams on a regular basis we are not going to improve. Promotion is a must this year if we want to progress and become a top 8 team again.

Bigjoe. You'd have to include Nicky judge as at least one to have a look at. Very tight defender.

I have Judge on the panel. I think if we are to make any progress we should look at playing a Donegal type game plan. We don't have good enough players to go toe to toe with the likes of Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Mayo etc. We lost to Armagh because they had a vast superior game plan and they had it perfected down to a fine art, where as we had no apperant game plan apart from just leaving two men inside and hoping for the best. I believe that individualy we are as good Armagh, if not better in certain areas, but there strength and conditioning and game plan was far far superior than ours.

Sorry bigjoe I totally missed that, old age etc :). For what its worth I agree with you on the style of play. We need to become more defensive.
Someone said that Kerry became a blanket defense in 3 weeks, so the malarkey of it been trained from u12 up is nonsense. I've said this before and I'll say it again, give or take one or two lads Donegal have a similar level of player on their panel as we do, play to your strength and develop a system to suit them. I don't think many a supporter would care if we beat dubs 4 points to 3. I know I wouldn't.
