Meath minor 2015 nominations?

Think so ziggy. Big Joe is an interesting addition to O sheas team. But coyler has big team experience. Will be interesting to see what Cb goes for. Surely if they have the belief in the development squad system they will stick with O shea since he was there since the 15's

Minor Final managers for Donegal and Kerry yesterday (jack OConnor and Declan Bonner) both had managed their senior county teams. No offence to big joe but Colm Coyles management experience would be a huge advantage to the Meath Minor set up. U can't buy experience like that.

Is Colm Coyle interested, maybe Tommy Dowd and coyler would take it on

Dunno if Colm Coyle will go in he would have to be given the job. Currently managing Plunketts in Louth, won the junior championship and will probably win Leinster so he'll surely stick with them.

Fitzmaurice knew the players available to him through his work with the underage and schools. Then it would make sense that O shea gets the job considering he has been with the squad for 3 years and knows all the players. Dont know what work Morgan has done at underage level so might not know as many players. When is the decision been made anyway?

I would go with Morgans management team to be honest..

To be fair both management teams look decent

Does anyone know who the Backroom teams are for the two nominations apart from the Big Names, these people are just as important and should be takin into consideration when selecting the new manager. We really need to invest heavily into the minor and underage set up and get a conveyor belt of talent coming through otherwise we will continue to struggle at senior level for years to come.

Having considered both teams I'm drifting with Morgans. As someone pointed out the minors of Kerry and Donegal were both managed experienced people. Not sure why coyle is not manager but having him involved is worth a lot. O'shea has looked after these lads for last few years but is that reason enough to step up to minor manager? I don't think it is. When will it be announced? Prob January!!!!

How did Morgan get on last year?

The County has been starved of success in the last decade and the most important thing is having the best team in place to get us success. It's not about whose turn it is to manage. I'd say most counties would relish the chance to have someone of Coyle's knowledge ans experience involved. Forglory, I don't think you can make a carefully considered decision on who should be Manager if, as you said yourself, you know everything about O'Shea and nothing about Morgan!

@nonstatues I never said I know everything about either team. If you look at my posts I have asked who is involved with both set ups. At the end of the day I just hope the best overall team gets the job for the good of Meath football.

I have asked who the best overall team is nonstatues. I dont really know that much about either set up tbh. just that O shea has been with them since 15's and that Morgan was only a selector last year.

I think oshea is the right man for the job, all the lads love him from, hes a very good relationship with the players and is the only man for the job 100%

There are really only 3 levels within Gaelic Football that recognised competition takes place . The first and possibly the most crucial of them is the Minor level. When the development players get to display their wares at a national level . Discussing who is going to be next years minor manager is a bit mad when you consider that a new manager for next years team has only a few months to get to know the players , to find out their strengths and weakness's before the competitive season begins. To remove the current U17 incumbent and drop in a new manager I believe is counter productive to all that is considered good practise in coaching , but then maybe I put too much emphasis on rapport , loyalty , belief , and trust and building confidence . Maybe the best thing to do at minor level is to drop in an ex All Ireland winning goalie , or all Ireland winning sub to inspire the young lads onto greater things. Please don't forget that a lot of the current crop of Minors / U17s would only have been born , or were very young when last we lifted the holy grail . Inspirations these ex All Ireland winning , County players were , but for a different generation , not for this current stock of players . This current stock of players have to start making their own way to Croker ....... Let the guys that have developed these players bring them as far as they can go ...... Don't be wasting all those training nights and playing days that there current U17/U16/U15 mentors and players have put in together ......In Meath in the last 14 years the highs have been very far between , the inspiring moments have been very few... Its time for the next generation to become an inspiration for the forthcoming generations .....Because most of our great moments are now drifting into the distant past.

Heard that Big Joe isn't going to be OSheas only inter county player. He suppose to be getting someone else in. Not sure who it's going to be. Hasn't been finalised yet. Not sure if confirmed at CB interview.

The problem with these development squads ,that I see ,is that each year you have individual manager and mentors with each team ie U-13,14,15,16,17. Therefore does this mean that if OCarroll had won the All Ireland this year with the minors we get rid of him because it's OSheas turn and he gets one year and Barry OCallaghan the following year with his present crop. I don't believe this is a recipe to success. Chopping and changing every year won't breed success. I do think both teams have the experience with the development squads but Coyles inter county and club management experience should sway it

Where did you hear that tones? Wonder who else he would bring in at this stage. He would have to go through interview again I would imagine.Whoever gets the job should be given 2 years. then the 16's manager should be given a shot at it once they were successful at that level. thats the whole idea of development squads.

Tones any idea of when the manager been announced. Hopefully it will be soon and give the team a chance to see players before the minor championship is over.
