Great Killyon win. Won easily in second half. Old senior pro's throughout their team were just too good. Last post was a bit harsh on the tones, yes they were poor but they tried hard and are fighting hard to keep hurling going up there, encouragement not running them down is needed!! Bit of a silly comment there timber, They got to the final that makes them the second best team in the competition. As I stated in an earlier post Killyon should not have taken part in that comp, They won it two years ago. Why would they enter it again this year. No self-respecting senior club would do it. Maybe our third string team would that's about it. Not much credit there for Killyon I'm afraid to say. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 520 - 23/09/2014 13:54:26 1655963 Link 0 |
Wolfe Tones showed nothing in this game, Junior 2 or nothing. Longwood, Drumree all senior clubs and had a second team in J2HC. Where was your posts about that previously. The Tones had a good mixture of youth and experience but some of the decisions off the line were crazy. Substitutions made at half time and then they bring on a player taken off at half time again 5 minutes into the second half. Bonkers stuff. I ahve asked in a previous post what has happened with this club as I have been on the unfortunate end of beatings from them in the previous 4 years at Intermediate and believe me they are a completely side this year. Thank gog to some degree as we are now in the semi's Sunday V Ratoath and expect us to win it outright. Just a shame for Meath hurling if this club is waning. shivermetimber, will dunderry beat ratoath on sunday? iamgod (Meath) - Posts: 86 - 23/09/2014 15:01:33 1656023 Link 0 |
A short answer, YES, I believe Ratoath have improved this year but Dunderry will beat them and I predict by 6 or more points, I also think it will be a Drumree Dunderry final and again Dunderry winners. Shivermetimber (Meath) - Posts: 124 - 23/09/2014 15:56:58 1656076 Link 0 |
As you know timber it is very difficult to compete at both the Football and Hurling. Look at Ballivor this year going great then flopped in the Quarter final. Why because the hurling is going well again. The Tones are in the Junior B final and the Senior Semi Final of the football. It appears they are focused on the football these days. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 520 - 23/09/2014 16:59:51 1656135 Link 0 |

Latouche. Having both means nothing. What I witnessed sat night was a lack of basics and a lack of heart. The same is what I witnessed with the intermediate team this year. The tones have always had dual players and successful years in both but I have never seen this before. You are obviously a tones man so you may need to look deeper that that baffle. From what I have seen you have not lost any players but they have certainly lost something. Skill and heart Shivermetimber (Meath) - Posts: 124 - 23/09/2014 20:32:25 1656297 Link 0 |
Timber you seem very concerned with wolfe tonnes maybe you should concentrate on your own team. sam1996 (Meath) - Posts: 436 - 24/09/2014 09:23:14 1656368 Link 0 |
No Timber not even close We had a horrific weekend, Losing the Junior Final on Friday night with a late goal, Then a total collapse on Sunday afternoon. That's life we had great days before and will again. By the way Tones won their game on Friday night, No lack of heart or commitment from them in that game. latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 520 - 29/09/2014 08:12:05 1657887 Link 0 |
Latouche congrats on the junior b football. I only posted in on the shambolic state of hurling in the tones. Best of luck next Sunday in the SFC semi. I'm off to train for an IHC final. Shivermetimber (Meath) - Posts: 124 - 29/09/2014 13:48:43 1658079 Link 0 |
