Are we for real! it appears that some folk would like to see most of their team on the senior panel. I would suspect if any club had 5 or 6 players on the Meath senior panel then they should be one of the strongest (if not strongest)senior clubs in the county.

I don't think people are saying these players should be on the panel, just some think they are the best young players not on the Meath panel..

Minors
Daire Rowe is the obvious player to come into thwe squad for next year
Brian harnan was impressive in the minor matches i saw
One of the midfielders was decent too (from Trim) name escapes me

U21
best talent already involved

Don't forget Eamonn Wallace, Cillian O'Sullivan, Adam Flanagan, James McEntee and Brian Power should all be pushing on next year on return from injury or pushing players out of there way.

Clubs scene
We should see some new players coming through in the club championship this summer O'Coillean from O'Mahonys could be one

As already said unless there's a system in place though to make use of the talent available and a structured team is put in place that guys know there jobs then we might progress. Time for the older players to be shown the door as some without naming names are no longer of the required standard. Mick needs to settle on players in consistent positions not chopping and changing them every which way that no one knows what the should be doing, where they should be on the pitch and who they shouldbe picking up. Look at all the top teams and they have consistent selections and settled teams. We do not. Mick needs to settle on a first 15 and let them play together and develop into a tea during the league

Possible 15 for next season (assuming no injuries)
------Paddy---------
Donal-Kevin-Donnacha
Padraic-Power-Damian
Conor-----------Adam
Cillian-Graham---Eamonn
Stephen--Shane--Mickey

That leaves you with
Menton, Meade, Tormey, McMahon, Rowe to come into the team as subs

Power isn't ready for inter county centre back. Wasn't even on the panel this year

Kingofclubs- his man marker, the Armagh player gave a 'man of match' performance. Our half back line was very poor all year (along with other positions), so do we continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. I do think that some players are being played out of position.

Tormey was trying to do an awful lot against Armagh,as some others were not up to the challenge..

Adam Gannon from ballivor would be a good player to give a shot

have to agree with Brown cows
his man won the game for Armagh and in second half he was stood on the 45 for most of it arms on his hips looking up the pitch hurling abuse at the backs
didn't help them out a bit and go deep looking to help out
took a few free's and missed them badly too, now he got a few good ones earlier in the year but when it counted he was missing
On Power (he was on the panel early in the year), saw him in O'Byrne cup (yes I know) but he seemed to know he had to hold the centre and not let his man come through. Lets his wing men push on and be in position if things broke down, supported his FB well too

Browncows no half back line could play well when Meath have absolutely NO midfield and a half forward line that does not work back.

He put a lot into the first half, when some other players were not giving 100%,may have run out of gas because of this.He still won a lot of dirty ball around the middle in the seocnd half. Not saying he was perfect, but there were a lot worse.

This debate comes up almost every year, then some of those named are tried and don't really make their mark at county level but that is quickly forgotten, we just move on to the next bunch who should be there and aren't, you can only have so many on a panel at one time and those that were there this year worked hard to get there, whether they stay or not in 2015 is a matter for management, I have no doubt that more young talent will get a run in 2015 but there's no point flooding our bench with those either, we must ensure our present young blood gain suitable experience and the continuous training required to reach levels like what the Dubs are setting, too much chopping and changing will not benefit us at all....

As I said Adam Gannon was outstanding last night for ballivor with David Raleigh both exceptional players and worth a shot
