Meath v Dublin: Leinster SFC 2014

A real shocker of a performance . Nothing went right on a day when we needed to get any breaks going . However that said some very poor individual performances ( Harrington - again ! , Harnon - lacked pace and really struggled , S o Rourke - Clueless , G Reilly - a wasted talent - real pity ! .Andrew Tormey probably our best player . Up front only Bray looked dangerous but without support was never gonna trouble Dublin .Big Mick o Dowd fan and appreciate the efforts he is making but not a good day from the line either . Please give Menton a fixed position and let him settle into it . McMahon for all his pace is not an inter-county forty yards man and to see young Wallace been thrown in against guys twice his size was not clever .
In 2 weeks time Meath players need to prove to everyone and most importantly themselves that that was not a true performance today.Need to salvage some pride back .
Fógra: Seen Jamie Queeney run riot against St.Pats last night....surely hes worth his place at least on the panel.

"Looking at it though,Dublin look like professionals in an amateur game".
Exactly ziggy. Dublin have something like a hundred full time coaches.
Kildare and Meath have about ten between them. Something has to be done to address this imbalance.

Thought reilly, tobin and tormey were pure class today. Graham Reilly should be dropped for next game.

Talk about been put back in our box! Dublin are a class outfit and looking at their Minors today and their U21 a few months ago their long term future is assured.Meath knew what was coming today, but still looked totally unprepared. Apart from KOR Tormey,S Bray and to be fair to Newman he kept trying and could not be faulted, the rest were well below standard required. Looked out on our feet after 25 mins. Bringing Wallace on (no disrespect to the young lad) was a bad call.

Ya agree totally... Wallace was only brought into the panel after the league. But far too many changes today,it confused the players to be honest.Keoghan should be corner back.Menton gets moved around too often.Panic set in and it was suicide taking Reilly out of full back.

These are the games where big players stand up and for me Tobin was very good.

Im not sure about Menton. He doesnt impress me at all. Maybe he's moved around too much but cant honestly remember him having an outstsnding game for meath.

Meath looked clueless, lack of cuteness and abundance of arrogance on line showed. Anybody would know Meath were never going to march Dublin playing 1 v 1. Much hype about progress but in fairness to Banty he would have set the team up far better, whether Meath folk liked his plan or not at least he was realistic as regards how Meath need to play Dublin. Only beat by 2 or 3 points that day.

Menton is a good player, his best position is easily 6.Constantly moved around and rarely plays at 6.What is the point in having Keoghan at 6??

Can not see what MoD sees in Menton, yet to see him play well for Meath. Would drop him, Harrington and G Reilly for next game. But management must improve, today was a shambles

Is it true that O'Dowd had every intention of starting Meath and made the decision about 15mins before the game started to leave him off?? If so,that us incredible,as we moved Tormey to midfield, drafted Newman out the field and started McDonagh..

Rpyalpad your post is spot on. Let's be honest we could drop O'Rourke Menton biggy Carroll McMahon mcdonagh harnon etc etc based on today's performance and bring back banty. But we are where we are these players while no doubtedly hurting they must stand up and WIN against armagh. Management must hold up their hands and say we got it wrong and we as a management team must improve.
I will be in Croke park clones or wherever we play them. As a fan that's my job. All I ask is that management and players do their bit, so we can get back a bit of respectability. I fully expect a serious improvement and passion heart and pride on display.

Menton should be at 6 or on the bench.. Move Keoghan back to 2.

Think all true supporters will beat next match, but management must set up team to get the best out of them, its a bit of a worry at this stage that they still don't appear to have this figured out. Unfair on team as well as supporters.

Seadog I agree.
Ziggy that has to be wrong. No junior b manager would do that let alone a ic one in a senior provincial final.
