It's gonna be some job that roller coaster, apparently it's going to be the 2nd biggest wooden one in Europe in terms of length (1.2km) and speed (100km/h), all based in Curragha would you believe (nevermind this Ashbourne nonsense).

Who's Mark Connolly who plays in the Dublin forwards ?

Is he a relation to Diarmuid ?

If he is lets hope he has similar talent to his brother/cousin ;)

You couldn't start Biggie in an position other than the one he has been selected at in the previous two games.
Give him a corner forward jersey and a free role.
Playing him in the half forwards against Dublin would be a disaster like last year where he spent most of his time chasing after James McCarthy and was out on his feet after 30 mins.

What are meath supporters on!! The Meath Kidlare game was a sham of game in my opinion, it was quite clear that Kildare players had no idea, no game plan and no faith in their management. First half was like a challenge match with no intensity or tight marking.

Apart from Bray we have no scoring treat, McDonagh and WaLLACE good runners, workers etc but i dont want this from my inside forward line.
Dublin have 6 -9 forwards who are faster, stronger and more accurate in my opionion. Would u play Bray our best forward ahead of Brogans, Connolly, Mannion, Flynn,Costello, o'Gara etc, tight call maybe but he's the only foward we have close to these guys.

I thought Flanagan was way off the pace when he came on, hopefully he will learn alot as I like the way he caught one ball.

The Dublin backs are marking players in training faster and stronger so i'm sure they will sleep sound, these guys had have serveral provincal medals, all-relands and all-stars so i think they can handle the pressure of a meath game.
A really poor Klidare performance still had enough chances to win the game in the final 10 minutes but like ourselves are short class forwards.

Also Kevin Reilly gave free and free in the first half and when the pressure was on went off injured, I'm sorry I have to be missing something here, eventually the ref gave him a yellow after his 6th foul was committed in the first half.
What I like about this Meath team is despite the weaknesses and lack of class in certain areas there is the old self belief back.
Really impressed with Carroll, Tormey, Tobin and for Meade to make such a return to inter co action in the short space of time tells u all you need to know about him, we fell apart after he went off.

If only MOD had more class to work with, I was delighted when he got the job, it's just a pity about his timing, imagine what he would do if he players like what Boylan worked with.
We need to start pushing more at minor and u21 level, to me McMahon, Wallace's, McDonagh all look really small and light..

We need to play like Cavan for the Leinster final which is not the Meath way but we cannot expect to go man for man and expect to win, I could see Meath trying the counter attack style against Klidare but still looked defensively weak.
Newman needs to be back and if not right I would play David Bray, the point he scored is something the guys who started ahead of him would never score.

All this nonsense talk about Dublin afraid of the meath jersey is rubbish, the best team wins on the day and that's it, for me Dublin have a better team and will need to under perform to give us a chance..

Have to agree with 90% of what you said, one of Kildare's worst performance's ever against Meath and they still could have won in last 15 minutes. Would Meath have been happy if we had missed all of those chances? Agree we should have been totally out of sight by half-time, with all our goal chances. But none the less, a near total collapse, few leaders in evidence during this period. Don't think it was a case of thinking job was done.
But did think KR was hard done by for at least three frees(watched playback and commentators queried several frees)Thought he did well throughout game.
To have a chance in final everything must go right for us on the day. Its the day we really find out where Meath are at

And the award for the most nonsensical post of the year has been won in early July!!!! Any individual that comes out with a statement like that doesn't deserve to have his/her opinions noted any further, a typical type of effort from the stubborn sort of Meath GAA person who believes that because he/she is from a certain club or a certain part of the county that they are right in their opinions come hell or high water. Your are missing something alright......but I'll leave that one alone for now

Also thought Kev was hard done by for a couple of frees. And while stephen had a great game to say he is our only forward who can score is not correct as for majority of league he didn't score at all in games. Newman IF back will be a far more threat, also mcmahon and Tobin who has really impressed me. Graham Reilly will be sent around HB or midfield he may still pop up with a point or 2 . so I think there is plenty of players who can score, newman mcmahon bray tormey biggy O'Rourke mcdonagh.

These forums appeal to me no longer. On one hand you have the reactionary posters who believe we are
potential All Ireland winners one day and the worst team in Ireland the next day. On the other hand we have
a bunch of total sickeners of pessimists who continue to tell us just how ordinary Meath are. The championship is all about optimism.
Its about Dreaming of future glories. "kildares worst performance in years is the line being spouted". Anyone who would write this
clerly didnt see Kildares capitulation to Dublin in last years leinster semi final. So maybe we wont win an All Ireland in the next Hundred
years and perhaps we are a million years behind Dublin in terms of coaching at underage but that hasnt stopped gems appearing like newman,
McMahon, the Wallace brothers and in bygone times Greats like Geraghty, Giles and Co. You cant instill brilliance you are either born with it or
not. Meath faded out against Kildare at centrefield after 50 minutes of domination and Kildare had a real go at us but we held out. All our recent form since losing to Armagh has been positive. So Im going to Croke park in a fortnight hoping to see Meath win the leinster title. Will it happen maybe, or maybe not.
P.S
There is another thread doing the rounds asking how many Meath players would make the Dublin team. What a load of crap
It is irrelevant because they are Meath men and a Meath man would never countenance the notion of wearing the sky blue.

Its what forums are all about, different opinions. Big difference between been a pessimist and been a realist. If and when Meath beat a decent side they will get the praise they deserve. Carlow and Kildare were no where near decent Longwinded rants against those who differ are pointless

And there's a difference between being a realist and just knocking a player for the sake of it and using incorrect statements to try and back it up, there's nothing long-winded about it it's just being factual.....

I think that it is good to have different opinions and posters are entitled to give them as long as no player is named/shamed/rediculed. However, I do not think that you will win very much by dreaming-even though there is no harm in dreaming.

there sure is some amount of negativity on here with most Meath ppl saying we are going to lose to Dublin. We will beat Dublin because despite what you experts thing we have as good as players and better than dublin. The news rules suit Meath football. However Dublin will try and take out kevin reilly, buggy and one of our midfielders. we are short in midfield. Try and believe in our team and stop with the negative crap I would expect dublin fans to say about Meath. Up THE ROYAL
