Ironically I think the pressure is on meath. They are in a position that they need to show something tangible, i.e. silverware. Adamski (Dublin) - Posts: 339 - 30/06/2014 16:56:48 1611697 Link 0 |
Adamski, I agree with regards to the time-wasting etc etc waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 30/06/2014 17:23:53 1611712 Link 0 |

Meath are in with a good chance they proved that with yesterday's game. First 15 minutes will tell all should be a good final on the royals NavanGirl (Meath) - Posts: 121 - 30/06/2014 17:59:03 1611729 Link 0 |

Lads i think the Dublin backs will will not sleep well over the next few weeks, these Meath forwards have real speed and once there get on the ball they have only one thing on there mind head for the square were there is a good chance they will get a score or be pull down and get a free in front of the goalposts i will put a few pound on Meath to win this game jackhammer (Louth) - Posts: 83 - 30/06/2014 21:38:35 1611881 Link 0 |
Regarding the team selection it will come down to whether Newman is fit and we would have to be hopeful on that front. In my opinion tactics are crucial for this one. We need to stop Dublin getting goals even if that means sacrificing some possession further out the field. We need to completely shore up the middle of the defence and force Dublin to go for long range points. This might put a bit more pressure on them. The last thing we want is for them to get through for a couple of goals as this will give them unstoppable momentum. i think its worth looking at putting a time limit on a frees ie 30 secs for a ball park figure that if goal keepers what to take frees 45s etc they don't spent 2 mins every-time to take one. its so frustrating to watch IMO bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1263 - 01/07/2014 11:18:50 1612029 Link 0 |
What's the story with Sean Curran? I don't think he was there with the squad Sunday and was removed from subs. ClassApart (Meath) - Posts: 1200 - 01/07/2014 12:09:54 1612069 Link 0 |
guys we did not show our hand against Kildare and played the second half with an eye on Dublin game. Don't read too much into the second half- we won and will beat Dublin. Meathmen (Meath) - Posts: 73 - 01/07/2014 13:53:28 1612122 Link 0 |
Meathmen what are you smoking?? We didn't have on eye on Dublin at all we just sat back and Kildare got a run on us. BlackKettle (Meath) - Posts: 66 - 01/07/2014 14:11:11 1612128 Link 0 |
Meath starting 15... For Leinster Final! kickingking0000 (Meath) - Posts: 4 - 01/07/2014 18:05:53 1612261 Link 0 |
An eye on Dublin, that's a joke. We were on the ropes, hanging on for final whistle against a very poor Kildare team. Need to sort out this constant fade out, same in league played in bursts but were unable to sustain momentum. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2143 - 01/07/2014 18:35:36 1612286 Link 0 |
SEADOB 54 Agree absolutely ! Must accept that this problem exists . Think overall fitness levels not up to standard may contribute to fade out. No room for less than 100% from every man in order to have any chance against the Dubs!! nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1224 - 01/07/2014 19:02:14 1612313 Link 0 |
All very well in theory re: "Reilly breaking down ball" ;it seems like everyones team includes the 2 Reillys (first names on sheet?) RoyalSt.Pat (Meath) - Posts: 333 - 01/07/2014 21:17:22 1612386 Link 0 |
Better clarify - my first name down on any teamsheet is Kevin Reilly RoyalSt.Pat (Meath) - Posts: 333 - 01/07/2014 21:34:46 1612397 Link 0 |
RoyalstPat why don't you come on here and name the team YOU think should play instead of quoting others that are slagging off Graham Reilly? He has been a great servant for Meath and in my opinion has the experience and can do a job for us on July 20th. trim1 (Meath) - Posts: 162 - 01/07/2014 22:03:33 1612416 Link 0 |

I notice alot of Dubs about who are under estimating meaths ability. This game is alot closer than the 11/2 odds me got in the bookies. really hope we can do the buisness on the 20th and send the dubs packing in their own back yard. royalgaz (Meath) - Posts: 49 - 02/07/2014 08:17:43 1612420 Link 0 |
