Senior hurling championship

Its pretty hard to call a favourite out of this final. I would say most people would go with Kiltale but looking at it I think Trim can match them in every area of the park man for man. Going to be a very close final.. Perhaps Kiltale's Final experience will stand to them in the end. I would not read into the Injury problems to much from trims point of view as finals tend to make injuries heal faster ha.

Also just looking at the fixtures list released today on the main page, the final has still not been set in stone for the 12th??

This final should be very interesting , two sides with great history. Kiltale are young and have experience from 2012. Trim however have two players only from what I know with winning experience and with injuries against them will be up against it. Two young sides, Kiltale were very poor up until half time against kildalkey while trim showed fearlessness, bravery and passion when put against it all year. Trim to win, may take extra time. Should be well worth 15€ entry fee, for once

Hopefully it will be a cracking final.Trim done well to stick to their guns and beat Dunboyne with everything going against them on the day.Kiltale were very poor for long periods against Kildalkey but still managed to carve out a win.I think Kiltale will improve a lot more than Trim and will win by about 5 points.

As a Meath hurling man it's great to see Trim back contesting Championships, massive hurling town where the people, young and old have a real passion for the game. Both Trim and Kiltale to absolutely dominate meath hurling in years to come, savage underage hurlers coming through in the next two to three years. Hopefully Sunday will provide a great game with this years best hurling sides to watch finally meet. Kiltale badly need the likes of Durnin and O'Sullivan firing unlike they were against Kildalkey as The likes of Douglas and Heffernan will have Kiltales defence under constant pressure as they did against Dunboyne. However I feel trim will do enough, in savage form and the fact this could be their first championship in 13 years will drive them on.

Kiltale, like the old Meath footballers of old, seem to wake up to the fact that they might get beaten and almost flick a switch and kick on in the 2nd half. They did it at least three or four times this year (certainly against Kilmessan and Kildalkey).
Their natural position this season has been losing at HT or later and having to dig out a result, sign of a good team? - not sure, good teams put teams away early, usually.
The big difference between this Kiltale team and two years ago is there is a genuine panel (the three minors that came on vs Kildalkey basically won the game). That has to be good, competition for places is positive in any sport.

Trim have the hunger factor, and the surprise factor that Kiltale had in 2007 when they shocked an odd-on Kilmessan side. Injuries to key players probably a worry for Trim, class players make a major difference at this level. If Kiltale had a fit Cillian O'Sullivan they would be hot favourites instead of warm ones!

Should be intriguing, can't wait!

it would be interesting to see how Kiltale would do if they were let in the leinster club championship proper. ireckon they would be quite competitive, its a pity they are not cause that leinster senior club championship looks pretty open the past few years.

Absolutely woeful is all that can be said. was there ever a worse beating in a final.
Where to from here for trim.
kiltale could now string a couple of finals together. They are still a young team.

Some scores taken it must be said - The no. 9 goal was the best seen he danced between players. The skill of Kiltale shone yesterday. They should get the credit for there skill it was unreal. Well done

Kiltale simply incredible. Best performance from them in a long time. Trim just woeful all the same, all shyed away. Only positive is they are young side with good underage so this might help them kick on

Easy to point out negatives when a team loses, Trim have been a joy to watch this year and were deserved of there place in the final. Kiltale started well and from then experience kicked in. Kiltale could have contested the Kilkenny senior hurling final with a performance like that. Trim were well beaten by kilmessan last year and it looked like no daylight could be seen past that, if they kick on from here what happens ? County champions. Two young teams , should be many more meetings in years to come.

great performance from kiltale. talking point has to be about Trims collapse.. I feel watching the game that the did not believe they could win. Also it appeared that they had no game plan, had zero knowledge of kiltales strengths and when things were looking bleak early, they didn;t know how to change things.. Trims shooting throughout the game was appalling and if they had converted half of them it would have been a much closer game at the half. Questions must be asked of John Andrews im afraid.. His demeanor on the sideline and at half time showed a man way out of his depth.. Tacitly got it totally wrong changing the forwards around from the previous games where heffernan and douglas were operating in the half forward line not the corners where they had no impact.. by the time he changed it the game was already over.

I honestly feel if Trim are to push on with developing as a team they need new ideas and i think they need to bite the bullet and bring in a new manager. Andrews has brought them along great over the past few years, but you cant expect to just go out and beat a quality team like kiltale without some sort of plan.

Kiltale had a gameplan, even their warm up prior to the game had a system. They knew that Trims weak links were the half backs and they totally dominated them.. Mcganns had the ball pucked out to the half forwards before trim realized the game had re-started. Target Doyle and toher as the key playmakers(they had three men on them whenever they had the ball).

Credit to Kiltale where its due though. I still feel if trim had shown up Kiltale still would have been able to go on another gear..

Would like to wish Kiltale HC the best of luck in the Leinster final, two more games away from the Croker. Go hard or go home lads!

so what did people take from this years championship?

kildalky a team on the down, physicality is now the main aim, used to be a great hurling team, pat ohal gone aswell
trim are a team for the future with great players on way up, had easy group this year and mayby people over estimated there ability but be a force in coming years
kilmessan are in big trouble with very little coming through and nothing on the bench while rely on lads 30 +
dunboyne same old story but again few nice young hurlers coming through
killyon very unlucky to not make out of a tough group
kiltale very lucky not to loose a few early on but showed great character, look to have good big squad to pick from now , hard not to see them winning a few more
longwood unlucky to be robbed in 1/4 final, always tough to beat

For the first time in a long time a few clubs are able to win it , any of the 6 1/4 finalist this year could on there day won it
plus theres plenty of new young talent , things look to be on the up hopefully
