kiltale or trim... with kiltale edging it just because they have more experienced players and a little more physical... dunboyne could cause a shock though.. they could beat trim in a semi!!!

Can't see trim losing to dunboyne IMO trim a way better team at the min think trim will beat them by 6 or 7 points

Can't see dunboyne beating trim? You must not seen there league game a no contest, with 2 teams fairly championship ready . Dunboyne won by a cricket score. IMO, Kiltale are the fav. Kildalkey on former form and dunboyne / trim have a chance. Think Kilton will do Kilmessan for 3 spot. Any thoughts?

League has nothing to do with championship never did dunboyne do well ever league then championship comes and they fold can't see this year being any different for them . Just my opinion not that I wouldn't mind seeing them win at all just how I see it .

Yeah totally agree championship a different beast. That said form is form and IMO this year's championship is wide open would put Kiltale in as slight favourites.

If picking on form
Kildalkey have been very impressive with men coming back will be hard to beat so i would place as favorites
Kiltale will no doubt be there too
Its then between dunboyne ,trim,kilmessan
IMO kildalkey too strong for others

Can't see dunboyne winning it but this year they had a very poor league with the exception of the trim game. Dunboyne dark horses. Winners kildakey/kiltale

Think killyon will have enough to beat Kilmessan they have been unlucky more than them actually playing bad they seem to miss goals at crucial times something a bit of luck on the day could change but have a bit of work still to do but enough to pull through . Kiltale or trim to Win championship I say

Ted Murtagh SHC Final Round

Kilmessan v Killyon: This should be the game of the round. Both teams needing the win. Kilmessan have the experience but I think Killyon have the work rate and grit to get this one. - Killyon by 2 or 3

Rathmolyon v Kildalkey: Rathmolyon had a good win in the last round but Kildalkey should have enough in the tank. - Kildalkey +6

Kiltale v Blackhall Gaels: If Kiltale are in the right mindset they should win in second gear. Blackhall though will want to finish out the year on a high after a good season at senior. They can definetly make it tough if kiltale don't show up. - Kiltale by 10

St Peter's, Dunboyne v Na Fianna: Dunboyne to win. Na Fianna and O'mahonys to go to relegation playoff. Dunboyne by 10+

Longwood v O'Mahonys: Longwood should prevail here. 7-8 point win for the wood

Boardsmill v Trim: Unfortunate for Boardsmill to be missing one or two. Don't know if Bird will be back for them? With Trim into the Knockout stages it could be closer than many think. Good Year for the mill. - Trim by 6+

Kilmessan v Killyon: Killyon will win this in my opinion by 2-4 points. If clynch is back fit, it will be a different story.

Rathmolyon v Kildalkey: Kildalkey should win, nothing game , nothing to play for so depends how teams approach game. they are awaiting winners of above fixture.. which will be a cracking game.

Kiltale v Blackhall Gaels: like the above, nothing to play for.. playing Kildalkey in league final 3 days later so I think this game will be closer than people think.

St Peter's, Dunboyne v Na Fianna: Na Fianna are sticky opposition but dunboyne will win by 10 I feel

Longwood v O'Mahonys: Will be a dour game.. Longwood are waiting to play dunboyne in quarters... O'mahonys are in a relegation game against Na Fianna.. Longwood by 4..

Boardsmill v Trim: I disagree with previous post about boardsmill... 3rd in the league group behind kilmessan and Kildalkey... and have beaten rathmolyan (just about) and a poor O'mahony's team.. that's all they have to show for their year... they would have targeted a quarter final place... and have come up well short following disappointing performances against longwood and Kildalkey... trim will win by 8.

My predictions for this round of championship:

Killyon v Kilmessan: Easily the game of the championship so far. All to play for and Kilmessan won't be too eager to give up Jubilee. Kilmessan aren't hurling well at the moment while Killyon were just short against a good Kiltale side. Killyon by the minimum

Trim v Boardsmill: Trim have already topped the group but will go at it like a team with all to play for. Boardsmill didn't show up against a rather poor Kildalkey outfit. Trim have too much class all over which will prove costly near the end. Trim by 10+

Ratmolyon v Kildalkey : Rathmolyon safe but never an easy team too play. Connelly and doran on form for an average Kildalkey. Kildalkey by 5

Kiltale v Blackhall: Kiltale aren't even in first hear and haven't worried in a game yet. They are the team to beat in this championship and cannot play the inform trim side until the final which will make for a great final( if all goes to plan for the two sides). Blackhall have had a great first year and are a team for the future. Kiltale by 6

Dunboyne v Na fianna: Dark horses of the competition against a weak Na Fianna side who really heavily on Slevin's frees. Dunboyne by 15 and teams should start worrying

Longwood v O Mahonys:Longwood were brilliant in round 4 against trim. Outdone by class prevailing at the end from Douglas. O Mahonys have gotten a man sent off in nearly all games this year and Healy will punish from lack of discipline . Longwood by 10

My opinion but would like to hear responses

Dunboyne , Kiltale , Trim and Killyon the teams that could win imo

from what we've seen so far in the championship I think Trim and Kiltale are the teams to beat. Both are unbeaten and have looked very impressive in every game. I think it would make for an intriguing finale.

Heard Gannon and Raleigh strained hamstrings playing for ballivor last Friday so with them lads carrying knocks can't see killyon winning Kilmessan to win I'd imagine . Killyon seem to be unlucky this year

Haven't seen much of kiltale this year however they are unbeaten and will take a lot to be beaten. Trim also impressive, finishing every game strongly and tight backs and plenty of scorers will make them very tough opponents in a semi. Kilmessan also very unimpressive for me. Awful against a poor Na Fianna side and missing a lot for class can see killyon winning this one

Seems Blackhall Gaels objective for the year was to beat Na Fianna. Once they achieved that the gave up, after taking some serious hammerings.

Can see Boardsmill winning against Trim tomorrow since Trim are through no matter what, but Boardsmill need to win to have any chance of going through. Wont matter in the end as Longwood are going to beat Navan.

So Trim Kildalkey and Longwood through from their group, Kiltale top theirs with Dunboyne and Kilmessan also. Does that mean it's Dunboyne Longwood and Kildalkey Kiltale for the two quarter finals? Whatever way they turnout they will make for two great semi finals.

Quarter finals are Kilmessan v Kildalkey and Dunboyne v Longwood. First game should be a cracker as always between these two powerhouses of Meath hurling. Kilmessan starting to show glimpse's of returning to their best, strong down the middle with a good free taker in Reilly. Kildalkey really impressive lately and have their top players back playing in the Keoghs. Kildalkey by 4pts. Dunboyne playing nice, fast attacking hurling. Think they will be too quick and slick for Longwood who really offer nothing to Meath hurling only hard hitting and negative tactics hurling. Dunboyne by 9pts. So IMO it's a Kiltale v Kildalkey and Trim v Dunboyne semi finals. Really getting exciting now.

Redman. I'd say your just about spot on with your analysis , only thing I'd add is I think longwood , dunboyne will be a bit closer.
