Just curious to see if People think that we could stop dublin this year Meath4life98 (Meath) - Posts: 21 - 28/04/2014 12:16:29 1581299 Link 0 |
We have to qualify for a Leinster Final before thinking about them. No point thinking ahead to that stage before we hopefully qualify for a provincial final. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 773 - 28/04/2014 12:44:17 1581328 Link 0 |
Realistically , As of now,on all known form this year we are inferior in many ways. We need a dramatic improvement in passing, much more aggression in tackling [legally]Massive improvement in alertness and man marking We have to be wide awake to short kick outs and quick frees from Dublin nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1228 - 28/04/2014 14:26:25 1581456 Link 0 |
No Chance. Dublin on a different level than Meath. Dublins u21 team would beat most senior teams in the country. Meath dont have the players that are good enough to beat them. the panel dublin have at the moment is just unreal. their subs would be automatic starters on any other county team. on our day meath could give them a fright but that would be about it. Meath has a lot of work to do to get to that level. db9 (Meath) - Posts: 283 - 28/04/2014 14:40:54 1581468 Link 0 |

Dublin to win Leinstr this year will likely have to beat Laois then Wexford and in the final Kildare/Meath/Louth/Westmeath. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 28/04/2014 15:43:27 1581556 Link 0 |

We can and will beat Dublin in a Leinster final. Jimin10 (Meath) - Posts: 783 - 28/04/2014 21:27:06 1581798 Link 0 |
Meath can have 2 different approaches to the position we find ourselves in now. 1...just accept defeat now...suspend training now.....accept we cannot beat Dublin ...in simple surrender now!!!! nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1228 - 28/04/2014 21:58:12 1581842 Link 0 |
Highly unlikely. But sure we will give it one hell of a try if we get to meet them. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 29/04/2014 08:12:41 1581851 Link 0 |
Thing is,can they be stopped by anyone?,never mind us! See if we played them and it was close, what could we do from the bench in the last 20mins or so,compared to them.. We could be on the way back, problem is,that this could be the best Dublin team ever... ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 29/04/2014 10:18:51 1581894 Link 0 |
I'm genuinely more worried about not making a Leinster final this year than meeting Dublin in one, laws of averages suggest we may not make another final but we'll see how things pan out, it's very early days yet. If we do get to a Leinster final and we're playing Dublin then why not go out with a bit of confidence, yes Dublin are a great team no question but it's a final, believe and you never know. Thing is we know Dublin are a very good team, and may go to prove they are a great team. They will earn the honour of being a great team when their record of titles won reflects that. Kerry were a great team because they won 4 in a row ,and almost five nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1228 - 29/04/2014 11:37:46 1581950 Link 0 |
People are raving about Dublin following the win against Derry, and rightly so. Their performance earned it. But, their defence is weak and if a team can manage to keep the pressure on their backs they can make Dublin look ordinary and over-rated, ala Cork in the first half of the semi-final. Dublin thrive on primary possession and making sure their forwards see as much of the ball as possible. Cluxton and McAuley are the stand-out players of 1-9. Their forwards are very dangerous, to a man. To beat Dublin in 2014, you'll need more than blood and guts, you'll need to deny their forwards the chance to destroy us. But it is possible, of course it's possible. It's not like Meath to think otherwise either. SmoothRoad (Meath) - Posts: 19 - 29/04/2014 18:58:48 1582193 Link 0 |
Two teams can beat Dublin. Meath or Kerry. bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1792 - 29/04/2014 20:38:13 1582229 Link 0 |
Lets worry about Carlow & Kildare before we even think of the Dubs. Games under the belt will be great for our team. A close hard game against Kildare (Presuming we beat Carlow) will bring us on no end and will if we win give us some confidence going into a 3rd Final in a row. chriscart580 (Meath) - Posts: 376 - 30/04/2014 10:58:31 1582356 Link 0 |
Yes we can beat Dublin. We will have to get tactics right and turn each ball into a 50/50 contest. We have better players. Dublin thrive on space and speed. Meath will win 3-4 points Meathmen (Meath) - Posts: 73 - 30/04/2014 18:43:11 1582644 Link 0 |

While i'm not worried about Carlow, I think we should focus on that match first. Too many people are also taking (most likely) Kildare for granted aswell. While they arent the ultra consistant machine we couldnt beat for love nor money 3/4 years ago, they still wont roll over and get easily beaten. I know they got relegated in the league, but along the way they put in some good performances and only lost by a point to Cork and Tyrone.
