I take your points lads but I think that when we consider the size of the two areas and the quality of football played at under age there is a huge divide in the standard played there on sunday. Take for instance most of the cilles lads I.e mullens, woods, kelly, brennan, hillard, mc closkey have all represented the county at underage level where Carry is the only player from Drumbarragh. Winning is a habit and I dont think for 1 minute that mickey conlon sent them lads out to loose. Also if this is what micko o dowd has to pick from future not bright for meath football from what was on show there last sunday. cilles man (Meath) - Posts: 142 - 04/09/2014 13:37:32 1647907 Link 0 |
I think ballivor will beat the bracks . They never played the 5 kildalkey lads that started against clann na Gael knowing the result wouldn't matter and suited them to keep the hurlers injury free for this weekends hurling but can't see them beating rathoat in the semifinal they came back well against them earlier this year with rathoat missing scoring chances that they normally would get and also ballivor brought a sub on that scored a great goal but think it was more of right place right time havnt seen or herd of him doing anything since don't get me wrong think ballivor are a lot improved since last year just think they havnt been tested yet so also think the have a few players that will struggle when it comes to the crunch Thejersey (Meath) - Posts: 43 - 05/09/2014 17:03:09 1648525 Link 0 |
To be honest I think it has to call some of these games.Ratoath are the O'Mahonys of the Intermediate ranks. They have most of the star players. The can be beaten for sure. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 05/09/2014 18:22:06 1648559 Link 0 |

For the 1st year in awhile methinks Castletown are not in as good a form as 2012 and 2013 but it should be a good battle with them and Ballinlough in the Semi, may haps the winner will come from other Semi Ratoath v Ballivor and then again it could be a Castletown Rathaoth Final and once again I will be correct whoever beats the "Daddies of them All" will win it Oh i feel a poem comimg on glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1108 - 07/09/2014 10:32:44 1648976 Link 0 |
There's not too many tipping ballinlough but they have one thing which is a big factor at this time of the year - momentum - started the campaign slowly but haven't lost a game now for 3 months and have found the knack for winning tight games. Expected win for Ballinlough last night. Quarter Finals should be clear cut. Ballinlough v Dunderry the closest but very comfortable wins for Castletown, Ratoath and Ballivor. Should make for two good semi finals. No surprises this weekend though seasiderblues (Meath) - Posts: 343 - 09/09/2014 08:15:37 1649901 Link 0 |
When you compare Ballinlough's result last night against Clan Na nGael (1-12 to 0-6) with both Ballivor's (2-17 to 0-4) and Ratoath's (3-17 to 1-09)results against the same opposition it would appear that the gulf in class between these two and the rest of the field is fairly wide. Also when you consider that Clan Na nGael bet the Bracks in both the league and Intermediate cup you would have to think that Ballivor could run up a fairly big score against the Bracks. no fibs, carroll is out of this weekends game with an ankle injury lads, yes, juicy, quinn & judge are all playing,as am i but we are up against it against ballivor.ballinlough could be the dark horses, peaking at the right time and obviously going places, peader byrne has been a great addition being available all year for them and its the reason they are gone up to division 1. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 1047 - 10/09/2014 20:53:45 1650766 Link 0 |
