Watched Clonard and they have a good mix of players definitely not without a chance but my money is on Simonstown to follow on

Don't agree, clonard are not strong enough, cortown the stand out team left and they are a pretty good team but not great either, the quarter final line up this year goes to show how weak the junior grade has become in recent years, most of these teams in their current strength wouldn't have got a look in 5 or 6 years ago!

It's hard to see a team that wants it more than Cortown although Clonard with Flanagan have the potential to cause an upset! As for the other semi, it's hard to see past Dunboyne after their result the last day out...Cortown v Dunboyne in the final.

Kilbride have fallen down to Junior B after last night, will be a while before they are back Junior A.

I'm predicting Dunboyne and Cortown wins this weekend.

Sad to see a first team going down to junior B. IMO there should be a change to the structure of the Junior Champ. It has been a poor championship this year and the standard of football is dropping. A change up might give it a lift it badly needs.

Move all first teams into the Junior A. eg Moynalty Slane Kilbride St vincents St Marys all move up.
Create a 2nd team championship where anyone who has not started the first round of senior can play. Teams will not lose people and the weaker senior teams can compete wit Don Ash and NOM.

Would this develop and benefit the smaller clubs.

@ Meath 2010... I think emigration has a lot to do with the dropping standard. Not many Junior clubs can afford to lose players and most clubs have lost 3 maybe 4 top players.Especially 1st team junior clubs.

when you look at the teams that have been promoted in the last 4 years its easy to understand why the standard has dropped because they have been replaced with poor teams - ballinabrackey, ratoath, drumbaragh, kilmainham and ashbourne would have all contributed to a much more competitive championship a few years ago.

Cortown vs dunboyne this should be a cracking game heard yesterday that Cortowns last junior championship back in 1993 was a win against dunboyne so could there be a repeat 21 years later ??
I fancy Cortown I've seen them in a few games this year and they have a fighting attitude about them never give up with a nice mix of youth and experience

Hopefully Cortown will beat Dunboyne in the Junior Final.
It would be a great achievement.

Would the fact that 4 teams were moved from junior to intermediate when the championships were reshuffled not be the main reason for a drop in standards? Effectively, the teams who would previously have been in the semis are in intermediate now, so the teams reaching the final now are the best of whats left.

Saw both sides over the weekend and both impressive in their own respect. I don't buy it's a poor championship there's been some fabulous football and the final should back this up! Cortown look like they're on the up once more with some nice young players coming up the ranks along with some experienced campaigners and on that basis I'm tipping them to nick it!
