Final Score
Meath 3-18 Wicklow 1-06
Decent performance
Brian Harnan looks like a very good no 6 he could come onto the senior panel next year
Daire Rowe got some great scores
Midfield dominanted
Wicklow weren't very good
Meath very sloppy for the last 15 minutes
Tougher challenges ahead

The downside of the win is that they will have to wait a month before playing again. There will be two rounds of the back door system before an open draw for the quarter finals.

Why didn't manager bring subs on earlier came was well an truly over 10 minutes in2 second half give lads experience most subs came on with just over 5 minutes left seems stupid not to blood squad

Not ideal considering we have to wait 2 rounds of back door to play the quarter final

Good performance by our minors today but it's hard to know how good because Wicklow were never at the races. Rowe was excellent, was worried when he went down early in the game but he recovered well, centre field was in complete control aswell, hopefully we can keep it going now.

Could be a big problem if Kyle Dixon gets fit for the next day which of the mid fielders lose out or maybe a positional switch perhaps for either of the two there now?

Do Meath play one of the losers in the last 8?

Lads....would not get carried away too much. Wicklow were very poor. Every position they were 2nd best. Midfield dominated against weak guys in that position. Dublin squeezed by Longfordat the weekend (and were lucky) and Longford beat us handily in the league semi-final. The wait for the next match will not suit us. If anything it is hard to gauge what kind of test this was but hey...a win is a win and you can only play the team in front of you. Rowe is some player.

The break will suit Meath, if they have such a lengthy injury list. I like the set up, lads like Kevin Reilly and Tommy Dowd on the line on Saturday, with the manager in the stands, these young plsyers will learn a lot from these guys and hopefully win at least Leinster, then bring that forward onto Senior panel in years to come. Rowe a great prospect but will need minding from burnout etc, good luck to all involved for the year.

Or course Dublin has a chance of beating us, think we'll beat them again though.

Lads - the worst draw of course. Remember the Dublin team we beat in Ashbourne in the league was a cross between their 2 nd & 3rd teams and we were lucky (a game of 2 halves with the windy day that was in it) however Longford were only beaten by themn by 4 points - so there is always hope. Just also hope everyone is fit!!!! What was the story about O Carroll being in the stands the last day??? Does anyone know ???
