I don't think he could because he played senior (intercounty) last year? Maybe the age think is (U-23) is kinda kicking in too.

It's less then two weeks before there biggest game of the year and they are more then likely both guaranteed starters.....did u expect them to be let play a club hurling game.?

He is still there.....but as we seen with Harnan for example....whether ur back available is irrelevant...if your not hitting the required levels at training and ur not up to mcentees level of fitness ur not gonna be considered....Newman clearly isn't. That's only my theory on it. Unless Newman has developed into a tough uncompromising corner back since we seen him last I believe at the moment he's surplus to requirements , well a half match fit one is anyway.

kildare dont appear to have changed much that's probably good for them as they are a settled team. And have been successful in getting to div 1. But its also good for Meath that there is so many changes as we where so poor that things had to change. Plus a new manger learning as he goes. So it all make for a completely different game the next day. And one Meath will be ready for.

Way behind other counties, fantastic to see a manager of the senior team finally taking the job seriously. Great stuff, Andy just keeps going up in my estimations.

think keoghan has to go back to the fb line. seemed to be a lack of communication there the last day. idealy tobin wouls be playing further up the field, but i would go keoghan, mcgill and tobin.
hopefully power is back as he will add stability with harnan and mcentee used to him playing there. if not its a hard one,but keoghan really needs to return to the fb line. burke was often out of position and was slow to react to a number of goal opportunities the last day.
