Start of Leinster championship next Sunday. I think kerry will be very tough but if we play as well as we have been we will beat them but will have to be top form for full 70 mins. billyjack24 (Meath) - Posts: 40 - 15/04/2017 08:32:34 1979501 Link 0 |
Agreed, a tough start here but the form and momentum are certainly with us, winning Division 2B and promotion was a necessity this year and accomplished with little fuss but plenty of strength on show. A good start to the round robin is essential and I fancy us to overcome the kingdom after a tight battle

Unbeaten in a year. But Kerry will be a massive step up. The players will not be allowed the same amount of time and space as they were against the likes of Wicklow, Derry, Mayo etc. I just hope that they have gotten rid of any bad habits they picked up against poorer opposition. Agreed I'd love to see Healy full back no disrespect to witty he deserves his place and i rate him high but Healy handled Wicklow full forward a bit better and all Kerry's forwards are as good as he was. Kerry like to score goals so full back line will be under a lot of pressure.

The likes of Wicklow, Derry etc... a bit disrespectful lads, it wasn't that long ago there wasn't a puck of the ball between Wicklow and Meath. Good luck tomorrow, well done on promotion and the Christy Ring, but don't get ahead of yourselves

Nobody is getting ahead of themselves and if you read my msg I was actually saying how good Wicklow full forward is. Of course it's a step up so we will have to play to our full potential for full 70 mins. There was no disrespect towards any of the teams in 2b we were in it for long enough maybe you should remove the chip from your shoulder...

I don't think any disrespect was meant but we have been exposed at the back several times over the last couple of seasons with long balls into the opposition forward line leading to costly goals at crucial moments. As said earlier, Antrim did it in both legs of the CR final and Wicklow did it in the league final. Wedgie (Meath) - Posts: 253 - 23/04/2017 11:38:38 1981841 Link 0 |
How is it disrespectful to say that Kerry, Laois etc are better sides than Wicklow or Derry? They are! Simple as that! Stating that playing Kerry will be more difficult than playing Wicklow is accurate, not disrespectful. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1362 - 23/04/2017 12:00:23 1981843 Link 8 |

Probably one of the biggest results in Meath hurling for some time. Excellent display against Kerry today who were 2/7 favourites before the match. Wouldn't write us off for a Croke Park appearance! Jimin10 (Meath) - Posts: 783 - 23/04/2017 16:34:04 1981888 Link 0 |

Hurling county haha, brilliant going. Any people out there with more hurling knowledge than me fancy our chances against Westmeath and/or Laois ? LeitrimRoyal99 (Meath) - Posts: 1463 - 23/04/2017 17:04:12 1981900 Link 9 |
Great result for Meath again. Little nervy towards the end but we got there. Laois will be a big challenge, they probably look the strongest team in the round Robin however I would fancy our chances in Navan. Thought we may struggle to win a game in the group before today but Meath seem to keep producing the results. I'd be confident going into that Laois game of a meath win. Only disappointing thing about today's brilliant win was the number of supporters in pairc tailteann.... bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1792 - 23/04/2017 18:05:37 1981921 Link 0 |

Anyone know how bad Damian Healy's injury is. Looked to be his hamstring. He'll be a big loss but they coped well when he went off which is a good sign. Royalace (Meath) - Posts: 121 - 23/04/2017 19:53:09 1981967 Link 0 |
Yes poor crowd maybe 500 or so disappointing seen as no other games on in the county. Fully deserved win but taking off kelly and quigley bit of a joke as they were the main men in taking game to Kerry and once they went Kerry got back onto game and only for mcgann it could have been a bad luck story but they got away with it numberedjerseys (USA) - Posts: 348 - 23/04/2017 21:37:28 1981996 Link 0 |
I'm a football supporter and went to support Meath today because of their exploits in the Christy Ring last year and league victory this year. Royalio11 (Meath) - Posts: 757 - 23/04/2017 22:49:56 1982018 Link 1 |
