Replying To Stonemadrossie:  "I hope he does dave I also believe Neil Collins would be delighted to come back.....if we had a different manager!"
What a poisonous statement from Stonemadrossie. This is the type of damaging speculation and atmosphere caused by the lack of official info regarding certain happenings especially the Niall Daly case. Apart from that, it is obvious from the game itself and from the 100% by the players on the field that management deserves our full support. In light of that Stonemadrossie should withdraw his/her insinuating and unfounded statement which does nothing but hurt the cause.

Dubs V Mayo - 5 Like(s)
Theres no blame to Mayo for having lost so many chances. We must give credit to both Mayo and Dublin. Mayo, because they have succeeded in getting so close more than any other team. And Dublin, because they have put themselves simply beyond the reach of everybody. No matter how great the challenge they have that confident physicality necessary to win a game in the 75th minute. They have done it to Mayo more often because Mayo got there more often. But they have done it to others too. For the vast majority of counties, for various reasons, it is almost impossible to even to get to that level. Unfortunately.

Cannot understand how none of our expert commentators even questioned the Tyrone goal. My first impression was that McShane was in the square before the ball was kicked. I have watched it a few times since and I cannot change that impression. But overall a great performance by Roscommon against the A I finalists who were fighting for their very life. Ulton Harney had another great game but his last minute lapse was a costly lesson which I know he will learn a lot from. Congrats to management and players who are clearly on the right road...

Agree totally with Cuckoosinging. Donie Shine''s day with the Roscommon senior team is long gone and Higgins is too injury prone and has played too little intercounty football in the last year to be a serious contender at this late stage.....

Aidan O'Shea Diving - 3 Like(s)
And how can both Jarlath and Dessie say it would make no difference.? They forgot that it would be OShea''s 2nd yellow card for diving.(in fact he should have got a 2nd yellow card long before the penalty for a bad pulling down foul). So no penalty + their most important player gone, it's doubtful that Mayo would still win. Fermanagh have every right to feel wronged today....

Thank you Cuckoosinging for restating what should be common knowledge to all. I'm saying it from the beginning: it's a disgrace how a loud few keep twisting facts to create an atmosphere against current management. They seem to be just sharpening knives for when Roscommon lose a game claim political gain....let's get behind the team and management in the Hyde on Sunday and bury the negative stuff. 'On the Ross !

Well done management and players. The results from all the other games are showing we are the best team in Div 2 and if we hadn't given away 3 points against Laois and Fermanagh we would already be promoted. Not too sure that makes Div 2 a weak one. We might be better than we give ourselves credit for. Clare's win over Cavan today was great for us and promotion is now totally in our own hands. Great credit must be given to all the squad for the great work put in even when we were missing so many..

Are Mayo Bottlers?? - 3 Like(s)
From last January it was pretty obvious that only Dublin could win Sam 2016. And still Mayo (and only Mayo) denied all prediction's. After their battles in the last 3 years it is just rediculous to call them "bottlers". For heaven''s sake give Dublin credit.

Joe Brolly Finished With RTE - 3 Like(s)
For once I agree with Eamonn Dunphy regarding Joe Brolley/RTE. Joe was contracted by RTE because he is Joe. So let him be Joe ! My biggest criticism of him is that he sometimez spouts about things more to call attention to himself instead of seriously analysing a game. But that is his problem and the audience will be his judge. God forbid that RTE will try to muzzle pundits or only contract boring politically correct ones.

The players on the field for the last 15/10 minutes are as important as those on at the throwin. That's the main reason why Donie Smith (and others) starts in the subs. If our seniors play on Sunday with the same purpose and determination as our minors did last week we'll all be proud of them, win or lose. Let's get behind them all and roar on the Rossies. Hoping the Atlantic behaves itself. Best of luck to management and players

Great to hear McStay speak up at last. His silence earlier on allowed space for doubts and suspicions (and maybe 'chip on shoulder'people.) The truth is neither players or management can be blamed for anything. If players like the Dalys have plans to go abroad for the summer, that's their choice and they have every right. We must be grateful for their contributions to the county and hope they'll be back. Others like Collins have even more serious reasons not to be available...and still others are out through injuries (but will be soon back). The frustrating thing is that a lot of these players are our very best. What the team and management have achieved without them speaks volumes. We have beeen competitive in all our Div 1 games.....let's all get behind them on the road to the Connacht Final 2016 !

Replying To Rosfan:  "Fantastic win on saturday. Heart in mouth stuff but it did the heart good to see that Roscommon finished much stronger and the subs made significant contributions. Tyrone will be 2 steps up from Armagh, they wont let us play free-flowing football like we did on saturday but I feel Croker will suit us. If Roscommon can play wide and use the wings, kick direct ball into the forwards and Enda Smith makes those lung-bursting runs I see us getting some Joy. I am glad we are playing them in an open pitch than the hyde to be honest. Donegal will be interesting. No McBrearty to worry about, if we can get our house in order defensively I fancy us to shock them in the Hyde. As for the Dublin game, Well we can only pray but Roscommon int he super 8s, what a time to be alive."
Hear, hear !........and lets not forget our minors in the Connacht Final in the Hyde Friday evening....win or lose there's great promise in this U17 group. Great times to.be alive for sure !

I am amazed that some posters here are suggesting that Kevin McStay should keep silent and head down....That is exactly the wrong advice. Supporters are a very important part of any team and need to know what is going on. The mannager''s long silence during the first half of the league created space for the rumours and suspicions. I hope that is in the past now and that Kevin continues to talk and keep the rest of us on board. Best of luck to him and the squad during the coming months !

How many times did we see a Monaghan player last Sunday surrounded by 2 or 3 Rossies and still win a free. That is unforgiveable. Not knowing how to tackle has been a problem with Roscommon players for years. If we cannot correct these basics of football, it won't matter too much what defensive system we adopt.

In the circumstances, if we get Cunningham, it will be by far the best we could have done to replace Kevin mcStay. Keeping fingers crossed this week !

We were stuck in a dilemma up to now. Will we continue to play nice attacking football and get hammered by the big guns OR will we try to imitate the big guns ? Well we seem to have decided that if you can't beat them, join them. From the criticism of McStay, that seems to be the wish of the majority. A lot depends on his backroom team. Because he doesn't know our club teams he will have to have inside help but the rest should be from outside. The best of luck to them all. It's so important that they have the support of all Rossies.

Replying To rossam:  "I'd say you have it spot on"
GAA_lover and Rossam, most of your predictions are logical at this moment, but unfortunately your final paragraph reveals a dose of poisonous bias. How can you predict what will happen in round 4 when you don't know who we'll meet after the Connacht Final ? If you're not one of them yourself, your comments border those of a small group who can't wait to see the Rossies fail again in the ch 'ship so that they can get of MChale. ..

Replying To Jack L:  "Roscommon will be favourites for promotion next season"
JackL rv don't get overheated because of today's performance. We had at least 4 good performances out of 7 in the league 2017. But very few saw it, just because we lost those games. The reality is we could not have expected much more with such a young team. Div 2 is where we need to be for a couple of years. There are good teams there who might expect to beat us but also teams we can expect to beat and build a competitive Rossi football team. In the meantime, we expect to be in the Connacht Final, but won't win it this year.....hopefully we can reach the A.I quaterfinal .....and then a great run in Div 2 next Spring.......that is the road ahead as I see it. I never pay much atention to people who condemn everybody when we get mauled by Dublin (who by the way played at their almighty best !) Just as I don't listen to exaggerated predictions just because of one good performance.......thanks and congratulations to players and management for never giving up in this league campaign. It must have been very difficult and hopefully it will have hardened them for the future.

Replying To The_analyser:  "Yes the management team looks a lot more impressive with him now confirmed."
If ever a coach is seen as more important than the manager it is this case of Mike McGurn.....but we are forgetting that the future manager was a very good defender on the A.I. champs Armagh team. I think he could be equally usefull because for years Roscommon defenders (and others) do not know how to tackle without giving away frees. So ORourke and McGurn could turn out to be a very good combination indeed. Good luck to them !

Replying To The_analyser:  "Not home yet but having a pit stop as i make the long journey back to Roscommon. Trip well worth it when we won and i was pleased at how earned the win in a game where a lot didn't go right for us with a over fussy ref in charge. We didn't deserve to find ourselves a point behind at half time but that was all our own fault by gifting 2-1 to Cork. 2nd half we got our just rewards by winning it by 4 points and the match by 3 points. 3 well taken goals was clearly key. Cox,E Smith and Stack our best players today and i thought N Daly was good first half before sent off with a soft black card. A special mention to A Lyons who was very good when he was brought on 2nd half. Thanks to all the players and management for a summer of progress and Connacht success and we still have plenty of room for improvement especially if the squad is boosted by the return Cathal Compton,Niall McInerney, C Murtagh next year. Roll on the FBD in Jan!"
Fully agree with The_analyser. The main difference between us and the top 2 or 3 is S&C and fitness. But we cannot expect miracles. It takes years of very hard work to get to the level of Dublin. We have seen great improvement this year but we're only starting. Just hope the players can continue with their generosity of time and work to reach those heights. For that reason the win against Cork in Cork was an important encouragement. Thanks to management and players for a great 2019.
