GAA Speeches - 3 Like(s)
What do people want a fella to slog away for 70 minutes and deliver a folklore speech. The expectation of the players is ridiculous. The captains of any All-Ireland winners have obvious proven leadership skills and if a captain wants to deliver a speech thanking everybody who assisted in delivering the title well so be it.

Sean Boylan Vs Jim Gavin - Who Is The Greatest? - 3 Like(s)
Billy Morgan is up there with the greatest and has got no where near the recognition he deserves. Four All-Ireland Finals in a row, Cork were robbed by Tommy Sugrue in '88, that should have been a three in a row team. He rebuilt a team for an All-Ireland in 1993 and took Cork from been beaten by Limerick in 2003 under Tompkins back to an All-Ireland Final in 2007. The 2010 All-Ireland winning team was constructed by Morgan and put the foundations firmly in place for that win. Couple this with managing Nemo to All-Ireland success and UCC in the Sigerson Cup. Morgan is up there and probably better than all of the names mentioned, this managing a county where football is second choice. Image what Cork would have done in the 2000's with the likes of Brian Corcoran, Sean Og, Tom Kenny and Ronan Curran playing.

How Many More All Irelands For This Limerick Team? - 2 Like(s)
No need for me to add that this is a good Limerick team. However lets keep things in perspective about how good they are. Cork (who in my opinion are one of the worst Cork teams I can remember apart from 1996) drew with Limerick in Pairc Ui Chaoimh in the 2018 Munster Championship round robin. Threw away the All-Ireland Semi-Final 2018 (draw in normal time), beat Limerick in the league and championship in 2019. The gap between the top teams in hurling is very marginal so no Limerick won't dominate. As for saying Limerick's success is down to JP, Ard Scoil Ris have a a say in the Harty Cup over the past decade and the Limerick clubs have been strong enough also. Limerick have finally got their reward especially considering the gallant teams in 94 and 96 that were probably good enough to win 3 or 4 All-Ireland's. Last year people were wondering who would stop Tipp after the All-Ireland.

Dublin Getting 2 Home Games In The Super 8s. Fair Or Unfair? - 2 Like(s)
The whole issue about not wanting to play in Croke Park is unreal. Youngsters are meant to be dreaming all their lives to play there. Footballers have too many opportunities to play there. Munster hurling teams have to win the munster championship or get to a semi-final through the back door to play in Croke Park. As regarding a home venue for Dublin, it is a home venue. They have Hill 16 as good as allocated to them for all their matches, they have Hill 16 season tickets. Its a home venue all but in name

Clare v Tipperary (Hurling) - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Tipptipp:  "Looking at today's game,it's galway to lose ,would blow any of the remaining teams away imo.see the rebelettes are getting ahead of themselves over on. Proc.,gas men in fairness, think they are in the final already,if they win the all Ireland with that tipp tappy stuff, hurling as a physical game is finished, that said I truly believe the rebelettes have not seen the intensity of a all Ireland semi, totally different to the freedom allowed in the Munster championship..interesting few weeks ahead,"
How are you calling rebelettes? There is nobody in Cork getting carried away. I think that is Tipperary's problem and a major reason ye cannot do back to back All-Ireland's

People complain a lot about the Sunday Game and fair enough the football analysts are poor but nobody can complain about the pedigree of the hurling analysts, they all have serious C.V.'s- Daly, Shefflin, Derek McGrath, Liam Sheedy (when there), Eddie Brennan. I actually cannot bear to watch the analysis on SKY. Joanne Cantwell knows and played the game unlike Rachel (don't know her surname) from SKY. Let SKY have all the games and we will never see a live game for free except for the All-Ireland Final. I'd rather give RTE €160 a year than Sky €80 a month.

Hurling Q/f fixtures - 1 Like(s)
The QF never sell out even as a double header regardless of being staged in Thurles, Croke Park or Pairc Ui Chaoimh. I would have thought the Cork Co Board would have waited for Cork to play to open the ground but this stadium redevelopment is more for the rugby world cup and concerts rather than for Cork games. The Munster Hurling Final has only sold out once since 2006 and that was in 2014 due to the limited capacity of Pairc Ui Chaoimh. It didn't sell out in 2013 even in Limerick. With the potential introduction of round robin games into the championship these games will rarely sell out again. Cork played Tipp in 2007 in a similar series on a Saturday evening in a half empty Semple Stadium. The games should be staged in Limerick and Nowlan Park.

Sean Cavanagh should have been given a black card today. The Ventry outfit must feel very hard done by with the ref. I think he must have left the black card at home

Joe Canning on Late Late Show - 1 Like(s)
Playing hurling has provided Joe with plenty of business and financial opportunities including college scholarships. There are only very few players who reap the commercial opportunities provided through advertising etc. Joe has built a profile and appears very eager to build an image through the media. I wouldn't be a fan of Joe. He was a exceptional underage player but is not an in the category of players like Henry Shefflin, Ben O'Connor, Nicky English, John Fenton, DJ Carey, padraig maher, Brian Corcoran.

I wouldn't take too much notice of Ashling Thompson comments. It appears to me that the Milford girls are fairly fond of the camera and the media and avail of any opportunity to get media attention. Her clubmate is now a fitness instructor, by the way, on RTE's Today programme, as well as a brand ambassador promoting health eating for a large retail operator. If RTE and the likes want to promote these lifestyles then please employ proper health instructors, strength and conditioning coaches or nutritionists. I sometimes wonder why I bother paying a TV licence for watching people talk about issues with limited and unqualified knowledge. I think some of these so called star's need to take stock and stop getting carried away. Cork lost that game because they simply weren't good enough. This is the same fact with KK in the hurling. At least Cody admitted it.Please stop all this darting to the media at any opportunity. It is very annoying to say the least

Munster Hurling Championship 2018 - 1 Like(s)

Replying To Eddie the Exile:  "If Limerick take it easy next week then they guarantee a final against Clare, a better prospect than facing Cork it would seem. Would that also push Cork into facing the Leinster losers or is there a draw at that stage?"
If Limerick take it easy against Clare next week they might not be in a Munster Final. If Cork and Clare win then they are in the Munster Final on 6 points each

Where are all the flags gone - 1 Like(s)
There has been some heated debate over the past two weeks with who should receive tickets for the Hill. The Dubs bring great atmosphere to Croke Park, there is no doubt about this. Even Alan Quirke acknowledge the Hill after Cork beat Dublin in 2010. However the past few All-Ireland's have lacked any kind of colour around the stadium. Look back at the 1999 All-Ireland hurling final, the flags etc. on the Hill during the parade and when Cork finished off the game. I know we use to get hassle of the security going into Croke Park with the size of the flag sticks. I am sick of only seeing chequered in Croke Park. This is a minor gripe but I think the lack of flags inside the stadiums impacting on the overall atmosphere at the finals. It is probably done to too many neutrals getting tickets!!!
