Hard luck last night you just came up short in a decent competitive game. The wide count was huge for both side as for whatever reason both struggle to kick into Hill 16. All the best in the championship.

looking at the Monaghan and Donegal game, it looks like we are well off the pace. Specially with management who leaves the 3 inside forwards on for most of the game when they aren't at the races..then brings on Lyng who didn't even touch the ball or look as though he wanted to touch it. Argue, Tierney and Givney should have been on much earlier. And who thought it'd be a good idea to play Killian Brady midfield..Thought martin reilly had a fine game though

M.Lyng is one of our better players he makes three runs and no attempt to pass the ball to him and what happens. M.Lyng is the best passer and play maker of a ball in Cavan this is coming from a person who has no time for his club but as a player he is head and shoulders above anyone in the county, he would place the ball in your hands don't forget this. I felt sorry for him. Maybe Mr Hyland did not want to show his hand before June I don't know I hope this is the case. I don't want to stir things as many will think I am with what I am going to say but its time we buried the past for can we afford to leave Sean Johnston out in the wilderness for he has talent strength intelligence and we Cavan cannot afford to have him ostracised from playing the game he loves.

We most certainly can afford to leave him where he is. No way he should be brought back. Nice try to stir it again Sean.

Hyland always said if best forward in the county by a country mile. If he is prepared to put in the same effort as the rest he should be included. Don't think hyland has the bottle to recall him.

Hard luck Cavan but losing to a Division 2 team is not the end of the world , no panic buttons yet . After the championship and next year's league we'll have a fair idea where the Ross stand in the overall scheme of things - could well be they are in fact a very good team .
Easy to criticise management in hindsight but didn't think there was a whole lot wrong with team selection before game . Stuck with most of the lads who got us promotion and gave a rated player coming back from injury a start . Think the championship team will be different - a few lads there done themselves no favours at all .
We all know the main problem we have - fixing it is easier said than done - on their day the inside forwards are good but you cannot bank on them to get us out of a hole . Conundrum now is do you stick or twist ? I don't think we can afford to stick but I also believe the personnel are not there to twist . It's Terry's call - he's going to get flak no matter what decision he goes with - the joys of management!!!
At least this result will quell talk of "will win Ulster in next few years" . For us to win Ulster a lot of luck (and bad refereeing decisions maybe) will need to go our way .

Well we have six weeks time to chat with him I would not be his number one fan but you cannot leave quality out in the wilderness. I was very bitter when he did what he did but I am for forgiving if it means us having a good run in Ulster and the qualifiers. I have to say I am not trying to stir things I must add.

Do we want to try and be the best we can?

The only way to do that is with best players that are available.

SJ is one of if not the best forward in county.

It's not about being a fan or what club he is from . It's if he can add to the forward line. And yes I think he can after what I say Saturday night. We very limited up front . Shot selection was poor and there are still an element of glory hunting on the big stage. Too many players trying to do too much themselves instead of giving a pass to a player in a better position. Seanie still worth 3/4 points from play in any inter county match. Yes we have improved but he had to really as we couldn't get much worse could we? Now we are in danger of staying at the level we at . We need to push on. Look at Monaghan . In div 3 last year got promotion. Won ulster then got promotion again this year. Now that's reL improvement and with limited underage success to help. I hope hyland and co have the no how to bring us to the next level. Some of the substitutions and their timing on Saturday makes me wonder if they have. Armagh game 50/50. Qualifiers can be a lottery . Real improvement is difficult to see without adding a good centre back and 2 more scoring inside forwards at least. So yes I say get Johnston back on board if he is prepared to put the effort in. He would be a great impact sub this year coming off the bench with 2inutes to go.

Nobody remember Seanies performances in 2011 in the championship against Donegal and Longford?. And his form with kildare where he couldn't nail down a place on the team. I watched him last year against Donegal in Croke Park first round of the league, barely touched the ball, and was out muscled and out fought for any 50/50 ball. If seanie is the saviour we are in trouble

Foolsgold nobody said he is the saviour but he is as good as what we using at present. If you want to not pick on his form with Kildare how did you fail to mention the 1-4 he got from play against Kerry? Or did you conveniently over look that one? He might not be everybody's cup of tea but he as good if not better than any other so called forward in the county. Guess both Forde and seanie would both have to pull their horns in to make this work!

He scored 1-4 against a half strength Kerry team and also missed mas much if not more. He was a good player for Cavan but thats the past.

Watching sat nights game one thing was apparent, your inside forward line is not good enough. Monaghan are not world beaters but in conor mc manus they have one of the best forwards in Ireland. This is what Cavan are missing, for all the good work done at under 21 level that killer inside forward has not come through. Monaghan have another one in young Conor Mc Carthy to burst onto the scene next year. Success at underage is not the be all and end all. Young P MC kenna kicked two bombs yesterday from half back. He played full forward against Cavan in this years under 21 semi. Its maybe better getting one or two players through, anyway monaghan are promoted as champions and are a serious contenders again this year. Muineachain abu

I dunno lads, I wouldn't look too much into that result on Sat. Honestly I believe last year it was a toss of a coin between Cavan and Monaghan in Ulster Semi, and I feel that there would be a good chance ye would be Ulster Champions now if ye had won that game, as Donegal are not the team they were.

As for your inside forwards, I rate Keating and Dunne as two of the best in the game. I know one thing, I wouldn't fancy meeting ye again in 2014.
