Venue for hurling quarter-finals - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Killarney.87:  "Some win tonight juniorjudge that should quieten the bandwagon hoppers who kicked Waterford when you were down on Monday and Tuesday."
Yeah very impressive second half especially, the two bennets played out of their skin. They will have to play like that again though as LK and TY have 2 quality squads also. The begrudgers will still ramble on though my friend, there is one lad in particular i just refuse to converse with on this now as he just continuously talks nonsense. If WD beat WX i can hear them already? Sure twas only WX KK will hammer ye bla bla yet there own county are of poor quality. Gas stuff!!

What makes your County Great? - 2 Like(s)
The colour, the bunting, the local radio station WLRfm, the kids in their jerseys, match days, seeing that white and blue take to the field, remembering heros like flynn, daly, brenner, hartley, frampton, cullnane, mcgrath, shanahan, mullane, great managers and even greater supporters who are following the team from the heavens now..the '92 u21 homecoming to dungarvan was heart racing, the storys of your parents or grandparents going to the '59 final....hearing the hopes, nearing expectations...the history of waterford hurling takes alot off a man but gives so much more back - the epic munster championship matches of the late 90s early 00s. The fellow countymen forever saying "id love to see waterford winning it" - the thoughts of sunday, the dream of liam mccarthy. As a great hurler once very emotionally said "i loves me county".

Even in West Cork where Gaelic football was a religion in the past is fast becoming a sport of the past Will the new stadium in Cork pump some life back in to the GAA in Cork ? I doubt it What has happened to the GAA in Cork ?"

Replying To CroiGorm:  "Dublin, 3 of the last 10. 25 in total. Kerry, 4 of the last 10 years. 37 in total. Not bored of them yet though no?"
No im not actually....as another poster rightly pointed out arrogance is well settled in amongst the dublin set up. Mighty difference between dublin and kerry (and every other county)!!

Hurling needs to speed up again! - 2 Like(s)

Replying To 222:  "Question to waterford posters. Where exactly are they going under derek mc grath? Unless he has a master plan he will play the exact same tactics sunday week against the cats as last year. I fully expect kilkenny to beat waterford by 3-7 points. Murphy will have a field day mopping up loose ball, kilkenny midfield will also be to strong. For the life of God wateford would hold their own with man to man hurling with the caliber of forwards they have."
Can you name 1 game bar the munster final this year in the last 2 years where the system didnt work well? Where is mcgrath going? 2 league finals back to back..munster final..2 all ireland semi finals back to back...brought up 12/13 u21 players into senior panel...some of them pivitol for the seniors..rome wasnt built in a day .when mcgrath took over there was a 5 year plan..we are a couple of years ahead of that plan. Ive no doubt theres an all ireland for waterford in next 3 years...and mcgrath to thank for it.

All Ireland hurling quarter finals - 1 Like(s)
I think we will be too strong for our friends from wexford...we are training well i watched them the other night, they look like they are eager to show that they are contenders to kk and tipp despite that munster final result. I dont think wexford will be able to break down the system. Im gonna give Clare the nod over Galway, may not be much in that one. On another note, get well soon davy fitz...hoping to see you on sidelines on sunday.

Kildare hurlers bringing in outside players - 1 Like(s)

Replying To liam500:  "I think it should work the other way. Hurlers from weaker counties should be allowed play with McCarthy cup teams. Would only realistically affect a handful of players but would allow them to progress."
that also happens...a young meath hurler took up with waterford last year.

Tony Kelly or Austin Gleeson - 1 Like(s)

Replying To 1914:  "What's your point? TJ Reid plays for Kilkenny, that they won 2 All-Irelands before he was 21 is irrelevant. A Gleeson might never win one. That doesn't mean he couldn't be one of the greatest players ever."
Good reply! But AG does have an AI all ready, albeit minor with an expected u21 to follow this term

Tipperary All Champions 2017 - 1 Like(s)

Replying To WildPundit:  "I agree it's still March and this talk of Tipp in the media hyping us up is complete nonsense. Comparing us to the Dubs footballers is ridiculous. Fair enough we have good hurlers I don't doubt their ability but it's an open championship. We are getting more hype than Kilkenny ever did in their prime and they won Year after Year because they kept feet on the ground and eye on the prize. Only when this Tipp team win 2 r 3 in a row should they be compared to the best hurling team and football team in the country. This malarkey in past had led to good Tipp teams being completely dismantled within 2 to 3 years of Winning an all Ireland. I hate to say it but I'm not confident we will hold onto Liam McCarthy in 2017. I'm very bold in my predictions here of Tipp hurling the past few years but I have actually zero confidence of them winning when we are red hot favourites. Can't be faulted going to games for nearly 28 years and in that time I only witnessed all Ireland's in 89,91,01,10 and 16.Losses from 97,09,11 & 14.Plus the countless semi finals and quarter final losses during those times in Munster and All Ireland series. There are 10 year old kids in Kilkenny who have seen more all Ireland wins than most of us in Tipp. Clare,Galway,Waterford & Kilkenny are more than capable of beating Tipp this year come the championship. I'd always be wary of Cork and Limerick they never make it comfortable for Tipp and you'd never know always can take a scalp when least expected."
thank god someone finally posted something sensible!!
