Anthonys had a good win at the weekend, and would have to be favourites. Dulwich seem to be going well as well. Two favourites at the moment. But plenty can change in the next few months, as we saw last year TCG gathered great momentum as the year went on.

Pretty even draw that I would have said - One group isn't visibily stronger than the other.

Tir Chonaill Gaels and St Anthony's from Group A with TCG the group winners
TMC and Dulwich from B with TMC the winners

Possibly an upset from Eire Og, they seem to be going well this year. Unlike last year there's no clear favorite.

I wouldn't say they are miles ahead but St. Anthony's are the favourites in my book!

It seems the majority of teams in Champs are forming a very unorderly mass behind them with Dulwich looking the early contenders to stretch out and join Anthony's.

We haven't seen much of TCG this year as they haven't played that many games that I am aware of. I think a lot of their lads have had exams etc recently.

Group A; if I'm choosing then I would say Anthony's and TCG to come from there with Anthony's topping that group, 3 from 3. TCG will, I think, edge out Eire Og with CBG being the unfortunate wooden spoon in this group although I don't expect them to ship too much in the manner of their games.

Group B; Dulwich to top this one and then either T.Macs or Pearses. Surprisingly, T.Macs finished bottom of their group last year losing out to TCG, Dulwich and Pearses. Different showing so far this year though. I think Moindearg might not be the rollovers people are perhaps expecting. I would expect them to have their ducks in order in one months time. Gave Dulwich a good run last week for a long time within that game and the week before lost narrowly to the Pearses. Will be impressed if they can qualify out of this group though.

Anthony's remain my tip for this Champs though. Not an easy one to win this year though. Whoever does will have earned this one!

Group A - Anthonys & TCG to progress from Group A.

Group B - Wide open, who knows what teams Moindearg & Tommy Macs will out out come Championship. I will go for Pearses & Tommy Macs to progress.

Anthonys will be favourite with Pearses as the 'Dark Horse'!

Anthonys beaten Joes and Towers in the last week. Have to be favourites from Junior, even though Dulwich seem to be going quite well.

First game this weekend in the championship - Very interesting to see how it goes.

Anthonys will put down a marker and win this one by over 5 points. TCG are a decent young team but against the Championship favourites will find it difficult

seems the so called favourites struggled against the young guns

Anybody see the game ? Slight turn up for the books I would have thought.

I would say that the result won't make a drastic difference to either teams Championship targets, both teams will go through to the semis with ease and with the other group looking slightly weaker both teams will probably meet again in the final, Anthony's out for revenge and Tir Conaill with the belief that they can win it.. By all accounts Shalloe Pearses did beat Tir Conaill last week though?

don't forget TCG got to the final last year and put it up to Cuchulainns, also they have a good few players of in Uni during the league and don't usually be at full strength until the championship, will expect them to qualify from the group with Anthonys.

Did both teams have full teams out?

Two Championship games this weekend:

Shalloe Pearse vs Thomas McCurtains
Eire Og vs Crawley & Brighton Gaels

Predictions?.. Will be interesting to see how Moinderg and Mac Curtains shape up for championship.. Could see Shalloe Pearses beating Mac Curtains, Eire og to win the other game 5+

McCurtains had plenty to spare over Pearses who looked poor. Eire Og started well v CB but got nervous in the second half great fightback by CB to earn a draw.

Dulwich v Moindearg this weekend on Sunday. Up to a couple weeks ago I probably would have just said Dulwich outright but given the Moindearg result last weekend against TCG where they only lost by four, perhaps they are making giant strides. They must have picked up quite a few players.

No idea what the story is with Dulwich as I think I've only seen 1 of their games so far.

That said, I am still backing Dulwich to win this one.

Dulwich by a point yesterday, but from what I heard Moindearg were the better team. Big game this weekend for Moindearg as it looks like they now have to beat McCurtains.

Dulwich v Pearses - Dulwich have been on a roll, so going for them
Moindearg v McCurtains - should be tight, could go either way, draw
Eire Og v Anthonys - both will have been disappointed with first round results, but Anthonys to bounce back
CBG v TCG - battle of the Gaels, TCG tails up, should have to much for CBG

Come on Ros, back your side! Judging by the match report on the Dulwich / Moindreag first round match, you better tell your lads to bring boxing gloves!!! They will never change, hope you win!
