I have watched some of the intermediate fixtures and not sure if it will be a comfortable win for St Brendans. Young fit lads versus a mix of players some weak some strong. But yes Brendons is a well run club.

@grahamg

Are you connected with st Brendan's ?, seems decent set up, can't find much on st Joseph's, is it proper outfit or just for fun type setup?

@Bafflemcmurphy

I am not connected with St Brendans I work for a regional media company and have done some work for the Irish Post. I go to some games at the pairc and keep up to date with the match reports. I found a link for St Josephs http://www.oneills.com/shop-by-team/gaa/international/united-kingdom/st-joseph-s-derby-gaa.html

Hope this helps

Im not sure who the contact would be. The fella I spoke to was Steve a Donegal lad, he was telling me a parish priest helps out with the training.

Contrary to what battles stated earlier I know very little about Brendans and I am not Birmingham based. They have been in the last few intermediate finals but that is about as much as I would know about them. I have seen Derby once this year and was surprised to see that they are in the intermediate final, presume they had the kinder side of the draw.

A priest! Well least they have god on there side! Lol. Was working on site yesterday with a fella from Dublin he said he did a bit with St Joesephs, but left cause of lack of effort from a fella that runs it, was always cancelling training etc so he could not commit anymore, seen final is on 15th in Birmingham so might pop down and have a look, but judging by @jonnyroastbeef stated it should be pretty one sided, like he said they got lucky side of draw.......handy havin a priest behind you!!!!lol

Bafflemcmurphy,

EGB would be your closest club. They have two teams, Senior and Junior as well as doing a bit of hurling.

Not the best team in the world but a good bunch of lads.

Regards,

Winker ;-)

I will be down to watch too. Ye can have the craic with either St Joesephs, St Brendans or whoever else on the day.Normally most of the teams turn up to watch. My money is on St Josephs causing an upset I think St Brendons will bottle it even though they are the stronger side. I wouldent listen to yer man from Dub sounds like an eegit to me.

Regarding the homegrown team I think there are a lot of names missing surprising not to see marys young keeper in there might lose his patience but when I've saw him play made some outstanding stops also has one hell of a kick out

heard down in birmingham today that leicester are not fielding sunday if so what a complete joke of a club. field on a wednesday against brendans then unable to field for the 2nd championship game in a row. anybody got any other thoughts on this situation.

They shouldn't be allowed to compete in any more games this year. Seem to be picking & choosing what games they want to play, absolute joke. If they were able to field last night, what is the reason for not fielding on Sunday ???

If they had beaten RC in first group game, would they have fielded against JM & Macs ??

What happens next year if they were to be drawn in a tough group & decide they don't fancy fielding ??

Quite obvious what they are doing, trying to keep as many boys back so that they have a chance in the junior championship, not fair on other clubs or lads.

County board needs to take action, sooner, rather than later.

Hopefully get up to PNH on Sunday to watch the triple header.

Cant see Marys or Casements causing an upset. EGB and Northampton should be interesting as its the first real Championship winner takes all game.

Leicester should be ashamed of themselves. Where are the know it alls you were tipping them for great things in March time.

Both teams should be suspended from whatever championship they are involved in next season.

It was a ding dong affair at headquarters yesterday with Mitchells coming out on top by 4 points. Casements deserved to win the match on a whole and had the favourites rattled at various points throughout the game. Based on this performance it appears Mitchells are weakening as the season progresses. For a team who are supposedly one of the best in the country, this was a poor showing. I believe the winners of the Barnabas V Macs game will see it out and win this years championship.
