Replying To eoinog:  "Fixtures are a bit of a message. Lucky the weather is good. Only at Co semi final stages yet in Senior and Intermediate and u.21 about to start today. Obviously all teams who are involved in Senior, inter, and Junior won't be Fielding for u.21 today so that will create more backlog and probably a few walkovers. This is in a county that are long gone from the All Ireland series. Anyways Tourlestrane will win easy this time around. Coolera had their chance but were not good enough to take it. Coolera bench very weak in comparison to Tourlestrane. Couldn't believe some of the players that were brought on for Coolera. They were over the hill 10 years ago. Tubber will beat Coolaney. In the intermediate the boys from the West are a resilent bunch and I think they will see off the Gaels. Easkey will hammer Owenmore Gaels (when ever it goes ahead,) For all the great work they do in Coolooney with their facilities and pitch, they give no commitment to the football. They are embarrassing. As regards to pitch venues it's all politics"
Think your comment is very harsh...gaels have but a lot of work into underage the last number of years and it's slowly starting to pay off...I'm sure their senior team put in as much effort as any other team in the county... not easy when you're starting off a very low base..some really good gaa people in the club with a big passion for the game and working very hard to improve a club that was rock bottom for years...easkey probably will beat them in the final but it won't be done to lack of effort from owenmore gaels...what is embarrassing is your comment and attitude

Replying To muscles:  "You are correct Eoinog, there was no Sligo team in Connacht Junior Championship as there was no club classed as solely Junior In 2006, there was 16 senior teams, 16 intermediate teams and Junior was all B teams. I would still like to see it move to 8 Senior, 8 Intermediate, 8 Junior A and 14 teams for Junior B. Could probably split Junior B and have a Junior C competition. Would there be any club in county who could get near fielding a 3rd team?"
I can completely agree..I think 8 teams in each champo is a no brainer...you'd have 3 very competitive championships and young lads no matter what clubs they are with would be playing a decent standard. Also think relegation in champo should be scrapped and you play in whatever one that corresponds with your league status . you could maybe bring in an exemption if a team did get relegated in the league and then won the champo the same year , little chance of thus happening tho.
