Derry have received a significant boost in their battle against relegation from NFL 3 as they have four players returning for this weekend's crucial game against Sligo.

The Ulster side are one of three teams battling to avoid the drop to the bottom division with Wexford. Sunday's opponents Sligo are another of the teams, alongside Offaly who take on Westmeath.

Derry need to win to ensure their survival and their chances of doing that have certainly been boosted by the availablity of James Kielt, Michael Bateson, Liam McGoldrick and Jack Doherty.

Their manager Damien McErlain told the Derry Journal that they need to produce a performance at Markievicz Park this Sunday if they are to have any hope of survival.

"We have to go to Sligo and perform. At this stage every match is a game to try and develop the side. I said it in the earlier rounds, you want to keep doing the work we are doing, going through the process, working away and improving every week.

"Once we get more sessions under the belt and start moving toward the championship, these things will be ironed out. For us this week has been about getting our heads down and working hard at training because we need to be putting in a good performance against Sligo."
