Clann na Gael pose a serious threat to St Brigid’s Roscommon SFC three-in-a-row prospects this weekend, according to Shane Curran.

The Kiltoom club's former long-serving ‘keeper is a member of Frankie Dolan’s backroom team and he points out that Clann have enjoyed the upper hand in recent encounters between these two heavy weights of the local club scene.

“Their recent history against us is quite good,” 'Cake' remarked to rte.ie ahead of tomorrow’s showdown in Dr Hyde Park. “They’ve beaten us in the Championship the last three or four times. They’ll go into the game as favourites on the back of that.

“Donie Shine is flying and Ciaran Lennon is going really well. Cathal Shine is there and the Petits (Darra, Shane and Graham) so there is a lot of experience in that side.

“But finals are there to be won and hopefully we can do well on the day and win it.

“It’s always been the way between Brigid’s and Clann, there’ll only be the kick of the ball between us.”
