Replying To Greengrass:  "Message to admin, no threads on betting should be allowed on this forum. Addiction to betting causes terrible anguish for people and their families."
This is bit Nanny state obviously gambling to excess isnt good but neither is drinking smoking drugs and eating to much.

Replying To Upforthegame23:  "I have to agree, clubs might get somewhere close to 10k each, in the current climate that's not huge money. All going to the centre of excellence only makes sense. Ultimately clubs are going to have to fundraise for the coe anyway. Wouldn't JP money be a massive help, but rather than give county board a free run, let them match fund it. A COE will help all clubs in county"
Nonsense 10k might not be alot for the Lomans the downs etc. But what benefit is a centre of excellence for the Loughnavalleys of this world be it would be better for them to have the money to put towards a GPO or developments in their club .

Replying To Meridian:  "Vulture Clubs? How can neighbouring Clubs be vultures to a Club that has never had an underage team? That is a bizarre comment. Parents are well able to decide upon who their child plays with and in most instances makes the initial contact to whatever Club they want their children to play with. When the local club has no team what are those parents to do? ....not play at all until the children are adults? One could to a 360 on this and ask how is such a Club able to field at adult level with no underage and in such a setup how many of that team are even from the area?"
Go through the clubs in Westmeath and see lads who are playing with clubs in an area they are not living that have underage teams. Westmeath is a free for all with no parish rule. In most counties that cant happen.

Mcartin since coming into the Westmeath side has been excellent but he probably regrets firing the gumshield into the stand but these things happen but the steward shouldn't have been sent by whoever sent them to get it.

It's ridiculous clubs don't have fixtures it's very simple send them out with the provision if Westmeath qualify they won't be on players need to know as do mgt to plan their week leading into it a lot of players have work etc

Replying To Claretandblue:  "We also have approx 800 club footballers who would like championship action to start, the club set up doesn't revolve around 30 inter county players. The first weekend is football, then hurling alternately until championship quarter finals, there's no free weekend according to fixture planner sent out to clubs, if we don't start immediately we face midweek games which proved an issue last year. The clubs have minimum 5 fixtures so a player missing on hols for a match is bearable, The Downs are missing Niall Mitchell for next two months as he's in America but our club members not bleating about it. He'll be back for last round, Lough Lene Gaels missing Jogger likewise but have to cope, plenty of lads travelling or on J1s, a lad on hols is the least of a club's worries."
what club players want is clarity and to be properly prepared not told monday they could be playing friday, lads have to be able to plan around things like work and the current state of affairs isnt helping.
