I agree that right now its unlikely Tyrone will offer any kind of serious threat to Dublin, Tyrone are too indecisive with regards their system. To me they aren't sure whether to play attacking or defensive football, they won't win an All Ireland this year. We knew prior to this evenings game, that Roscommon hadn't demonstrated anything in Championship so far that suggested they would give Dublin a game tonight. Dublin win all of their own kick-outs and put severe pressure on opposition kick-outs, and if the opposition do win possession, Dublin players usually put the ball carrier under intense pressure. I would love to see Donegal play Dublin this season, I think our kick-out strategy is developing nicely, our attack is very formidable and I think we could provide Dublin with the type of 75+ minute challenge they haven't encountered yet. But will know more tomorrow when we play Kerry, as it should tell both teams more about where they are at and need to be. Commodore (Donegal) - Posts: 1121 - 21/07/2019 01:03:40 2213815 Link 0 |
There are many words I could use to describe your post, but the one I will go with, which also happens to be one of the few likely to be allowed, is: Delusional. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3097 - 21/07/2019 01:57:06 2213822 Link 3 |
Last time Tyrone played Dublin we won and it was a very important league game where Dublin could have ended up in the play off. Stop being deluded yourself, I'm saying it how it is. Look over the Mcmonagle stone wall for a minute. Tyrone are the the all Ireland runners up , second best in the country until this year is decided. They are hitting their peak now , lots of games under the belt and no injuries with a strong panel. They will take lumps out of the semi finalists , I firmly believe we will make the final .

Stop Jack McCaffrey and this Dublin team is beatable . Then stop Kilkenny and your half way home, after that stop Fenton and your nearly there . Stop Dean rock and it's one hand on Sam. Stop O'Callahan and mannion and Dublin are beat. Now slap yourself in the face and realise it's a race for second place . cacsmckilly (Tyrone) - Posts: 1294 - 21/07/2019 09:18:33 2213847 Link 4 |
Thats the bones of it. And we have yet to see how good this Kerry team might be. It could end up being a race for third.

I thought you did well in the second half yesterday, superior fitness, Donnelly and Harte saw you through but the system is one dimensional. 6 or 7 points down and still sitting deep not knowing what to do. Poor game management and a lack of fitness from Cork cost them the game ultimately. Tyrone coughed up 5 or 6 easy enough goal scoring chances yesterday and Cork only took two. They probably should have lead by 3 or 4 more at HT. Donegal or Dublin would have punished that. Still, Harte watched Dublin's first half yesterday with his selectors and I'd imagine he will have a plan if they meet in the final.

Well now, the Dubs seemed to get the best of the weekend weather as Drumcondra welcomed the best of the west to Dublin 3. As the City itself once cradled a while weekend of S8's action. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 22/07/2019 11:07:17 2214575 Link 4 |
I don't think I've ever seen Croke Park as flat. A truly frightening prospect is a few more years of this. As good as the Dublin players and management are, this is not a level playing field. Demoralising for the Rossies and whoever is next. OGarmaile (Tyrone) - Posts: 248 - 22/07/2019 11:09:38 2214580 Link 1 |
Calling it as I see it after yesterday's games, Donegal and Kerry are the only credible threats to Dublin but we will beat both. Dublin's talent all over the field is immense. steve097 (Dublin) - Posts: 109 - 22/07/2019 11:23:25 2214591 Link 0 |
