Was going to go but I started watching Shane Lowry on the box and couldn't take my eyes off him! It seems I made the right choice. Condorman (Dublin) - Posts: 983 - 20/07/2019 20:36:20 2213668 Link 3 |

Awful match was hard to watch a hammering like that ,so 1 sided the gulf in class was huge ,was nice of Dublin to take foot off the gas in 2nd half or it would of ended up a 25/30pt win Galwayjoe86 (Galway) - Posts: 258 - 20/07/2019 20:42:15 2213671 Link 0 |
In fairness last season we drew with Dublin in the league, lost the final by a few points and were well in the all Ireland semi final until we missed a penalty. Yes lost by 8 in the end but you should have your facts correct. Also this year while tactically we were poor injuries really hurt us. Also our underage compared to ye and to a lesser extent Kildare has been far better. Not the be all but a contributor to any guide. I think the throwing stones was a minority of posters.

Just the 4 games at home in a row for Dublin then. valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1890 - 20/07/2019 21:34:05 2213709 Link 7 |
100% Going in with a 'sure we'll get beaten anyway' atitude gives Dublin an edge even before the ball is thrown in. I don't think most players and coaches think like that, just some supporters and some pundits wanting to sell newspapers or make a name for themselves. Let's assume Donegal, Mayo, or Kerry beat Dublin. It's only marginally better than the current situation. Why bother watching or playing in the Championship when you know the winner will be from a small group of counties in most years. Lightyears ahead in standard compared to the defensive rugby muck that preceded it though in fairness.
