Next thing they will be bringing in VAR to Croker,I think it's near impossible to referee Gaelic football, you regularly see the 4 midfielders fouling the hell out if each other before the ball is even thrown in, I thought it was a very sporting game between Donegal and Kerry, you'll always get a few flash points in a game such as ours but it adds to the excitement too, one thing I can't abide is late cowardly hits when a fella is kicking for a score as I seen in the Meath v Mayo game, it looked bad in real time and on tv you could see the ball was long gone over the bar when Boyle came flying into the lads standing foot, should have seen red for that and a ban, that's the about as low as you can go and then to dive himself and feign some kind of injury to avoid the ref who done nothing about it anyway, you talk about umpires not contributing? how anyone that has even half a clue about Gaelic football didn't see this is beyond me, there are none so blind as those who will not see it seems.

There probably is a bit of a grey area within the rules because nobody has been able to definitively point to the rule book to back up their opinion but to be fair if that incident was at the other end and Kerry didn't get a penalty I'd be going mental. It was given and it's time to move on surely? The result was fair and the draw was probably a better result for Kerry than it was for Donegal. They have it all to do now in Castlebar and will have to go hell for leather to ensure they get the win. Mayo are a dangerous opponent and I'd much prefer to be where we are going in to the final round. GeniusGerry (Kerry) - Posts: 2105 - 23/07/2019 13:02:19 2215231 Link 6 |
Dublin had no serious match yet next match is more a less dead rubber. no real intensity this could be a difficulty for the dubs . I am in too mind's seeing them winning 5 in a row I probably would be happy for the great players they have mighty tallented footballers and as a group all came together splendid team and you have to take your hat off to them. The alltenative isn't great you get the feeling that kerry are creating another team that will dominate the game as well they probably will swap a few titles between them not looking good for the rest of us. galwayted (Galway) - Posts: 26 - 23/07/2019 13:06:39 2215233 Link 1 |

Amusing to see Adrian Spillane giving a very provocative handshake to both Donegal midfielders before the throw in. He pulled them towards him so they received a handful, a body check and an earful all at the same time. The Donegal lads ignored him as a reaction could have sparked off a pre match dust up. Adrian was also offering more handshakes and 'words of advice' as he was being subbed but no Donegal players were interested. Wondering if he has form for such behaviour ? Doubt if he will be called out in next Sunday's Sunday World column. Killian Spillane kicked a couple of smart points.

Bla bla bla rubish. Clifford and OShea basically had the jerseys pulled off them. Give over. westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 23/07/2019 14:05:44 2215267 Link 2 |
It will be very difficult for two small clubs like Tuosist and Kilgarvan to form a Divisional side for Senior Championship. Templenoe have had strong minor and u21 sides in recent years. Always had a soft spot for Kenmare as it's a lovely town not too far from me. A good proportion of the division being in Beara. There have been some great players from the Beara peninsula, both sides of the border, down the years for a pretty small population. We will let the players themselves settle all arguments when they meet again in the final! ;) Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9136 - 23/07/2019 15:51:59 2215318 Link 2 |
How would two refs have helped in the penalty incident? The ref was not way out the field, he was in a great position to call it on the 21m line in front of goal and he called it correct. If he was any closer he might have blocked O'Baoill himself. See the link to the footage I posted earlier and tell me again why you say he was way out the field. Writing nonsense to argue your point

Boyle didn't catch the standing foot. Conlon takes the shot off his right and that's where Boyle dived at. Maybe have another look before accusing others of being blind.
