I would say John Monaghan was having a hearth attack with every step he took. Losing Coyle for Mc Hale I would take that any day of the week. Anyway the in the past. I always liked Mc Hale and he and his lazy style such a gifted footballer."
I think the only thing people had a problem with mchale was that he never let it go, the whining became unbearable, 09 he was still moaning about himself getting sent off and not john McDermott. And about 5 years ago he was on radio and still whining. Others like David Brady moved on. Mchale getting sent off was his own doing. No one else's. He never seemed to get that.

As I mentioned in another thread I think the amount of football both teams will have played in recent weeks will be a factor here. Could come down to experience and who makes less mistakes and in that regard you'd have to tip Mayo. But Meath should take great confidence from the year they've had so far and if they get the rub of the green and are in it with 10 minutes to go like they were in Ballybofey, who knows what could happen.

I was told this by a Meath man who knows his football. We were less than gracious in defeat and some used the McHale 'Our best player' being sent off as the reason we lost. Rubbish, we had chances in the first game and replay to take our chances and didn't and ye did. We should learn the lessons from games rather than blame things we can't improve. That was a great Meath team who did it again, Boylan effectively winning 2 and 2 with different teams. One of the greatest coaches in GAA history and I see involved with the U20s.

I was responding to a mayo poster. You really need to read things before jumping in.

Hoping our friends in green and gold in the Royal county get the win on Sunday, we'll soften Kerry up for ye, be great to see Meath get to the semi final, outsiders I know but anything is possible on a given day.

Meath were very unlucky (many decisions against them) not to beat Tyrone last year. They are improving but still have not clicked 100%, if they do they are capable of winning this. Mayo's chance depends on the injury list. AOS was carrying an injury in their last 2 games. If he is recovered and if Durcan is back I fancy Mayo, otherwise a 50/50 game.

Good summary there.

It shows how far Mayo have gone back in that we knocked them out last year amd Meath have the chance of doing it this year. I dont think its because ourselves or Meath are any great shakes.

Mayo are soft and if Meath can rattle them throughout the game then they can win. Push up on Clarke and make him boot the ball long or take risky short kick outs. No soft frees inside the 45 as COC thrives on these.

Id still have Mayo down as favourates and expect them to win but this will be tight. Mayo could pull away though in the last 10.

I have to disagree that Mayo are soft. Past mayo teams could be accused of this but not this Mayo team.

Expect Mayo to win this game but all depends on what was going on in Killarney last Sunday, were Mayo just ticking the boxes and getting the fixture over without caring how it went like League matches against Dublin and thinking of the next game or is it simply mental and physical fatigue, too many tight matches, injuries piling up etc, either last Sunday was a bluff with Mayo pulling the wool over peoples eyes and will come out for the remaining games gunhoe and destroy before and after them or else Mayo are f####d and Meath will beat them and the last game against Donegal will be a dead rubber for us, all will be revealed within the first 20 25 mins next Sunday

How so yew tree? Mentally soft. They have wilted on the biggest stage more than once. Vaughan getting sent off and Hennelly for example. Couldnt cope last year with Kildare in Newbridge.
