I think you're right clondalkin. There seems to be this thing in sport that you have to be ultra respectful as a fan to your opponents and having absolute belief confidence and conviction in your own teams ability to get the job done is frowned upon and you're instantly considered arrogant and showing a huge lack of respect.. it's BS. I don't think Tyrone are rubbish, I just think dublin are bloody brilliant and they will show it by winning 4 all irelands in a row and even if we lose, we will be back competing and winning all irelands again soon after cause we aren't going anywhere waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 17/08/2018 13:05:11 2134046 Link 1 |

Has nothing to do with respect but I'd be surprised not to mention very happy if we romp home. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8597 - 17/08/2018 17:09:03 2134100 Link 2 |
Totally agree , it's not down to being confident or not confident, it's down to understanding sport which has given so many examples of sure things getting beaten , but some to see it as black and white , as Jimbo said each to there own

Quiet confidence indeed. I happened to be talking to two of the players before the match in Omagh and they were fairly confident in giving you a good run. Upon speaking to the same two players this week they say that the Omagh match has only served to grow their belief in winning the final, they're certainly not contemplating anything other than that!

It's going to be a complete bore. The lead up to the game with Tyrone not talking to RTE. And still Mickey Harte saying rosaries. The Dubs will steamroll them in final 15 minutes Heatwae (Leitrim) - Posts: 19 - 17/08/2018 23:10:06 2134157 Link 1 |
I'm a genuine Dublin supporter who has seen many. many sure things dashed upon the rocks over my 35 years. There's 76 minutes of football to be played. On form and class there is no doubt Dublin should win by something that should be described as comfort. However, Mickey Harte is Mickey Harte. He has a core of strong confident players and forwards who can score. If the game starts to run away from them he will, as shown in Omagh, push on man to man and attempt to pressurise Dublin's rearguard. Croke Park and its "wide open spacesTM" should suit Dublin. But Tyrone will not tuck tail in the manner Galway or Donegal did. It's an all-ireland final. I wouldn't be complacent about this, but nor will Gavin's players. Am I confident they will win? More confident than any other final they have been in this decade. Very confident of victory by a big margin? No. That's silly talk. I'm open to being proven wrong though.

Tyrone have no chance....up against it. Hopefully we can stay within 10 points of this outrageously talented Dublin side. Its a day out lads anyway, chance to see the urban sprawl of the capital. We'll be saying our rosaries along with Harte but it sure will be a miracle if we win. One Dub is worth ten men...against our lads who are all honest as day is long. We can only try, do our best. Just remember that it is you who posted this. When was the last time that Dublin strolled an AI final? There must be some Kerry blood in your family, cute hoorism.

Ara cut out the poor mouth nonsense. People are fully entitled to give their honest views on how the game will go, even if that's totally at odds with how you want the game to go. For what it's worth I fancy Dublin by at least 6 points. That's not me having at go at or being disrespectful to Tyrone, it's just my view on how the game will go. It's up to Tyrone to prove people like me wrong, and fair play to ye if do, but less of this poor mouth nonsense. the_walls (Mayo) - Posts: 495 - 19/08/2018 15:20:50 2134406 Link 2 |
Hopefully so, it can't be any worse than your last performance against us in Croker anyway....

Tyrone confirmed that they won't be doing any media stuff that RTE have planned. Be fair interesting if Tyrone win!!! No interviews before or after. Including that night if Tyrone should win at the banquet. Rohanhorsemaste (Tipperary) - Posts: 26 - 20/08/2018 10:02:37 2134635 Link 0 |
Dublin by at least 8 for me. If Mickey can get his hands on the field markings paint prior to throw in then Dublin by 2 or 3. artisan (Down) - Posts: 1794 - 20/08/2018 10:22:16 2134642 Link 0 |

To be honest if you asked most Tyrone people and players they would say that his has went on long enough. It didn't take Cavanagh too long to go to RTE after he retired and many ex players participate on RTE radio. This is a M Harte boycott and everyone has to toe the line. Yes what happened on the RTE radio show was totally wrong and out of order but after 7 years enough is enough. I'd say there's lots to GAA people incl Tyrone Gaels who would love to see the build up of the game with the National broadcaster that will deprived of this. Grainne on Up for the Match said Dublin and Monaghan - think that was wishful thinking from RTE. I bet there'll be lots of ex Tyrone players on the Football Show on the Saturday night before the game which again will show this boycott should be called off.

Not a decision that can be taken lightly. It was an amazing piece of crass journalism and really hurt Mickey Harte.

Can you explain to me how you came to the conclusion that "most Tyrone people and players they would say that his has went on long enough"? Is this a poll between you and your 3 mates down the pub? or have you actually conducted a detailed poll/survey? You were on about the same rubbish when you were criticising Micky Harte and wanting him out, you are very quiet on that subject all of a sudden. Also the statement "This is a M Harte boycott and everyone has to toe the line" is complete rubbish. No one has to toe the line. MH has said that the players are free to talk to Croke Park - its their own personally choice that the don't. and I say fair play to them, it is great to see a bit of loyalty within a team these days. You agree that what was said wrong and out of order, its up to the person who was offended to forgive, not you. If I was In the same situation there wouldn't be a hope I would speak to RTE ever again. Up for the Match is sh*&e. Generally accepted at this stage. up there with the rose of Tralee. If Tyrone win an All Ireland I don't think one player would give a hoot if the RTE cameras are there are not. If their familys and friends are there who care's. And I would say Teamtalk Tyrone would do a fine job off does the interviews and stream them live if they could work that out. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2088 - 20/08/2018 12:48:04 2134705 Link 0 |
