Its all a bit of a sham really in my opinion mate, the only narrative from a media point of view is setting Dublin up for a fall and building an underdog. Anyone who knows anything about the game, will know it will be tight full blooded affair with fine margins it always is. I certainly wouldn't be taking the above as a compliment for Dublin, nor a slight for Tyrone, recent matches and trajectory have shown it will be more then competitive. To answer your question i know may are saying the atmosphere is a bit benign due to it probably being a forgone conclusion, but for me i remember the same kind of atmosphere against Mayo in 2016, were the media were reporting it was a forgone conclusion. Unsettling news from MH but delighted to hear that he's in recovery now and long may that last. Very traumatic getting such a scary diagnosis and it really puts it all into perspective. After all it's just a game of football.. it's just entertainment Very happy for him that he now finds himself in an All Ireland Final after what must have been a terrible and worrying time for him and his family/friends Wish him nothing but the best and if he and his team are successful I'll be staying where I am to applaud them off the pitch. Here's to a great game, I really can't wait for it and I just drove through Ballymun on the way to the airport a short time ago only to be greeted by scores of school children in a guard of honor all waving Dublin flags at the passing traffic and to think we're going for a fantastic four in a row.. stuff of dreams. Yes, every AI final that Kerry played in from the 80s onwards the opposition was rubbished. You won't see Dublin players or genuine Dublin fans dismissing Tyrone. They'll be treated with absolute respect and their team gave us a tough time in Omagh. We've been burned too many times now to be complacent. We've won our last 3 Sams against Mayo by 1 point. How can we be complacent? Donegal tagged us in 14 when the media had us down as invincible. We expect a very tough game and I just hope the Dubs can pull away in the final quarter and that's not being patronising and it's not cute hoorism. Tough game on the cards here. Finally, all the best to the Tyrone gaels travelling and you'll be very welcome in the city. We were treated like royalty in Omagh and had a great session. Up the Dubs! it's quite remarkable that a county like tyrone is able to put together a squad who are able to compete for major honours...up until 1984, tyrone were not even a force in ulster never mind ireland but since then we have completely punched above our wait...the county has a population of 127,000 of which 40% are our protestant brethern who as we know don't engage culturally in the sport...the small playing pool is demonstrated in the fact that 6 sets of brothers are in the squad for sunday...in many ways tyrone are not on anywhere near a level playing field with the dubs, but we are there on merit, and it really is a testament to the great gaels in the county who have worked tirelessly over the last 50 years to get us to where we are at now..incredible stuff really mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 31/08/2018 15:16:39 2137937 Link
