What handy frees? You mean the handy one he gave to Longford 30 seconds before when it should have been a free to Fermanagh? Or are you talking about the free where ruairi corrigan was taken out of it midair? Ref didn't do us any favours today either

Laois and Carlow ended up a dogfight with the O'Moores lucky to get a win .

Surely Carlows sick blanket and park the bus style of defence won't work in croker park.

Great atmosphere in Carlow yesterday with a fine crowd of over 7,000

Great result for Offaly yesterday - our first win of any kind over Westmeath since 2006 I believe. It would've been a big setback if we were relegated. I thought the point dropped to Sligo last weekend was going to come back to haunt us but fair play to the lads they pulled it out of the fire.

The biggest problem with the blanket defence is that it works. Carlow and Galway have both gone over to the dark side and the results have followed.

7000, that must be some kind of a record for a Div 4 game but i am sure there is a statistician out there somewhere who can confirm.
RTE league coverage very unimaginative and they really should have covered highlights of this game as well as Longford Vs Fermanagh , the promotion decider in Div 3.

Yeah because we had been so successful playing our usual brand of free flowing football !

Carlow are a better attacking team then 2 years ago and our scorelines prove that.

Nothing wrong with a team being organised

rte gave no coverage to our hurlers who won division 2 on Sunday.

30 seconds of head patting with a picture at the back.

I'm not sure if Carlow can be accused of "sick blanket and park the bus style of defence" I say this because after playing 7 games in the nfl they grossed a total of 11 goals and 119 points that works out at over 1 goal and 17 point a game, or a little more than a point every 4 minutes. (goal not included.)
I wasn't at the Carlow/Laois game last Saturday but the reports say it was a dour game played with 14 men behind the ball, final score 1-06 to 0-09. Carlow averaged a point every 8 mins, Laois averaged a point every 12 mins. (goal not included)

Sorry, that should have read 1-06 to 0-08
That would change Carlow's avg to a point every 9 mins.

Replying To AnCeisCLG:  "i could see Offaly beating Westmeath on Sunday as they have all to play for and westmeath need to win by 26 points and hope for a draw in pearse park to go up so they have nothing really to play for.
Sligo are battling for their lives too and could easily turn Derry over so any one of 3 could join wexford in Div 4 next year
As for us well it will be a titanic battle in Longford come Sunday. Longford are clearly dark horses and have been under estimated too many times already this season it seems."
Spooky prediction all the same .. you wouldn't happen to have this weeks lotto numbers ??

That's very good. That's exactly what John Heslin was on about on twitter.

Brendan Murphy poor play so greedy you square the ball to ten it's a tap in with the palm instead he goes glory hunting didn't think he was that type of player. Carlow should be winning here all over Laois, Laois just cuter infront of the posts.
