There are fears that a knee injury could end Dublin sub-goalkeeper Evan Comerford’s season.

Stephen Cluxton’s understudy withdrew from the match-day squad for last Sunday’s Leinster SFC final win over Louth after suffering the injury during Ballymun Kickhams’ Division 1 League clash with Na Fianna the previous night. His place on the bench went to third-choice ‘keeper David O’Hanlon.

“Evan got what looks to be a bad knee injury last night in a club game, so he’s going to go for a scan obviously on Monday morning and we’ll know more then,” Dublin manager Dessie Farrell told the media.

“We just don’t know (the extent of the injury) at the minute. It didn’t look great but anyway we’ll see what Monday brings.”
