If some people don't see the forwards score 1-7 every game they think they're no good. But onto our next game, we really need to win and I think we will. I only expect one or two changes with one of them being Biggy coming back into the team.

Redser123 Agreed 100% Sheridan not intercounty standard Newman also can be good at freetaking if fit. Sometimes i think agendas or club loyalty can get in the way of objectivity.

He was better than the last day and better than Lenihan today, but still very limited. There were times today he dropped deep (around midfield area) so we didn't always have a target man inside to kick ball into. Granted that was in the first half (playing into a strong wind) but still, I think he should have stayed in a more forward position to give others in possession the option. Thought that the ball played into him when he was double marked was terrible - what one would expect in junior match.

Very happy with the managers substitutions today. bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1792 - 12/02/2017 22:27:39 1955748 Link 1 |
Congrats on the result today, however I am not sure what the Meath management can take out of it as my own county was absolutely pathetic. We brought nothing to the game apart from physicality. Derry are in a very bad place and I can say it will be ourselves and Down who will be relegated. The win will give your guys confidence to kick on for the rest of the campaign.

Sean Tobin offers more. He's certainly more mobile (helps to link up the play) and also more likely to kick a score from play or a free.

I don't understand why fiachra ward isn't playing there, don't think he's injured.. Sheridan is just keeping mickey Newman's jersey warm, our best full forward line is 13. McMahon 14. Newman 15. Lenihan redser123 (Meath) - Posts: 403 - 12/02/2017 22:30:59 1955754 Link 0 |
Why should he have been taken off?

We just want what's best for this Meath team, Kildare who are a half decent team destroyed him, Sheridan shouldn't be near this Meath team, I think fiachra ward is a much better player, Sean Tobin too, but mickey Newman is the number 1 option once he's fit, that's 3 better full forwards
