Kildare have to look after Kildare. They owe nothing to any other team. We just have to do our job first pray for a miracle in Salthill."
That we do, Clare us our big obstacle and while naturally we'll be keeping an eye on Salthill, that's completely out of our hands. It would be nice if both games were close though, if either Clare or Galway are winning handy during their respective games then it makes things pretty dull for us.

Yeah, I get the fact its not Kildare's problem. Its not really in the spirit of the competition to basically throw the game. I wonder would the have made 14 changes if the they where playing Meath instead of Galway. With the possibility of Meath going up. Anyway it is what it is.

It's a real shame that Kildare aren't playing someone in the middle of the table without promotion or relegation at stake. And unfortunate that they will probably be playing Galway in the D2 final next and would much prefer to win that match over today's game. Fielding experimental teams in the O'Byrne cup is one thing, but it shouldn't happen or be allowed to happen in the league. I only hope that the fringe players really grasp the opportunity now that they are getting some game time and surprise us all. Not holding out much hope. I wouldn't be taking Clare for granted either.

I don't think it's anything against Meath to be honest. From a Kildare point of view it's a nothing game and an opportunity to give fringe players a run out. This is Kildare's second team playing Galway. I think any team in the division would beat them so Galway certainly will.

I am I correct in saying this is the third time in four years we've finished third in this division!!! No ones fault but our own that we didn't go up, I knew that defeat in Newry was going to be costly one way or another and so it has proved but the lads have finished the campaign strong and we have plenty of positives to work on. So next year Division 2 will be made up of Meath, Cork, Down, Clare, Cavan, Roscommon, Louth, Tipperary. That's a division I fancy to be promoted from
