Replying To royaldunne:  "Yes of course, under Andy it is a different situation than previous manager as Andy to put it diplomatically is a inter county manager,
It wont happen, but graham is in his late 20s and cant keep going forever. That been said I can't wait to see how Andy will use him this year."
RD

He will have to put in a shift and give 100%,that said, that is the case for all players. But reputations will mean little to Andy.

Replying To Crinigan:  "I think you are on the money there lad re the link to the Sheridan's being called up.

I actually like the two Sheridan lads as players and personalities but seeing Joe tweeting yesterday asking about what are the best goalkeeping gloves, I think its a kick in the teeth to many of the underrated goalkeepers in the county who haven't ever been given a run on the county panel - I'm thinking the likes of Geraghty at Na Fianna and Dalton at Blackhall."
Was Joe joking about that a bit?

Spot on Ziggy! Andy will put team before individuals.

Graham's school report for the last few years has been - brilliant talent but must work harder to fully realise potential.

Indeed, but as i said, where in county is another player who either scores or creates 45% of our championship scores? While its fantastic achievement personally, its a damming indictment of some of those around him. The objective is to outscore opposition, too many passenger forwards in Meath over last few years who cant do rule one of been a forward and score. Until we find at least 3 others with grahams knack for scoring we wont get very far, apart from O'Sullivan the others are very poor. And must do better or they wont be on team. Young ward may be a real find. We need forwards with a eye for scoring otherwise we peeing against the wind. Andy I know for a fact has told the players this.

Was Paddy O Rourke not a forward for a while when he was first brought into the Meath senior panel?

The Cavan goalie Ray Gilligan is a forward for the club but converted into a county keeper in 2015. He has been excellent, kick outs. High fielding,. An improvement on what was in nets previously

Digging up a few lads playing in Dublin that are eligible will do no harm but I wish this nonsense of Joe Sheridan in goals would go away.

Only recognizable county player on club team of year, id say that would be called doing alright.
But yes all players must up their game if Meath are to go in direction we all hope they will.
Anyways Bert happy Christmas to you and indeed everyone on Meath hs

Your gut? After 2 challenge matches? Hahaha. Your some man, jasus you're gut must have been in bits under micko.
Fantastic about Stephen O'Connor, no difference to deegan playing for dubs, actually exact same thing, were you complaining when Flynn was playing for Meath but playing club football for Mullingar?
We finally have a quality manager, somethin we have only had once since.boylan.

FFS lads would ye stop the whinging.

Not a competitive match played and already people moaning about things.. and we wonder why we've fallen so far

Everyone said we need to try something new and no more same old. Andy has played four friendlies, tried out a whole raft of players. Given players people said needed a chance a run at things. Identified some talented footballers who want to play for Meath who have ability. So what if they're dubs. Michael Deegan plays his club football in Meath but plays for Dublin, why can't we do the same re O'Connor and Lowndes.

Joe in goals - Well Paddy can;t be relied upon. So lets try out some options. Hannigan, Colgan, Burlingham etc. Geraghty hasn't been willing to commit previously so why would he now. I'd be sure he's been asked.

Dublin players - O'Connor is known to McEntee. Is it not a great sign to see him willing to commit to Meath based on our manager!!! Lowndes was involved with dubs in early 16 but playing for Dunboyne. If he's willing to commit great.

Returning players - Forde and Menton have made themselves available again. How many others will come in and improve the whole squad. O'Coilean no longer banished!! Says a lot really

i think all signs are positive thus far. He's been willing to try things out (i.e. wally at HB) arranged matches to see what he has, given clear indications re U-21 and fringe players. All good signs thus far.

I'm positive about where we're going. Long may it continue

Flynn is a meath man o Connor not.wot you getting all excited about I have my opinion that's all. As a great manager he has to earn that name yet.but let him at it.as for the 2 challenges they had nothing to do with my views.do you think Sean Boylan would look to any other county to bring in players I doubt it.thats a great manager as you say.

Its been a long time since Boylan, our past two manager have been a utter disaster, we thought banty was bad, but by Jesus micko made him look great.
Andy is doing everything right, 50+ players tried, anyone who thought they had something to offer given a chance, and without 21s . Thinking outside of box, players who wouldn't commit under mod for obvious reasons , back with enthusiasm, different styles been tried, fitness levels up hugely, what more can anyone ask? Especially when not one ball kicked in any competitive game. This is all fantastic, a great new era, under a actual inter county manager.

And before anyone gets all pedantic, I know O'Rourke was 3 when he came to Meath. I was just making the point a man with not a ounce of Meath blood can become a county icon, someone with tradition can also.

Harnan and Lyons families are also from Mayo...
Terry Fergusons family from Dublin
Most of the team born in Drogheda or Dublin so not really from meath at all...
