Walkovers Need to Stop

Hopefully Nobber will beat them in the last game to teach them a lesson and then they get relegated. If teams cant field a team, they cant field a team, you can understand that but this isnt the case for trim but i do think the county board are at fault here aswell with their fixtures and putting so much pressure on the dual players with game after game. Trim are always going to put the hurling and football championship before the league.

Trim can't be relegated, they've beaten Ultans and their score difference is far superior anyway

Don't see the issue with this situation. It doesn't affect anyting at top ot bottom of league and Trim have a crucial game against Killyon at the weekend

They can get relegated as if Nobber beat them they go into a relegation playoff with the third of Division 3 as they would finish third bottom.

Obviously there are teams at different standards and levels and some with better players and if the teams that are slightly weaker (and not because of a lack of effort or desire) are let down by other teams who cant even fulfill their fixtures then it is a problem."
I though denial was a river in Egypt.....

Any more fresh excuses going around as for why bad teams are mysteriously finishing bottom of their groups? Club 2nd teams? Walkovers? Club 2nd teams giving walkovers? The simple truth is if you are incapable of winning enough games to survive, it's your own fault.

Is that the case from Div 1 right down to 4?

I'd say there are plenty of clubs who didn't realize this was the case, I wouldn't be surprised if Trim overlooked it

Don't think they can go down.

Is it not one or two that go down.? Didn't think it was potentially three that go down.

I wouldn't under estimate Curraha. I reckon they'd give Trim a good go. They are both intermediate teams after all

ah I know I was just taking the mick. Should nobber beat them and going on current form, I doubt they will, I would like to think a close to full strength Trim should be beating Cura..

It would be a good game alright, Curragha are winning alot of games in Intermediate without their Meath footballer Mc Entee, they only had him for their first game.

Well the hurling could interfere with trim again against nobber so you'd never know but I'd agree that you'd expect them to win

If the fixtures were done correctly or with any consideration for dual club players walk overs would not be an issue. Trim not fielding on Tuesday is not ideal but with Meath u18 Meath u21 and club senior hurling being played they are under pressure. They cannot expect lads to play every game and stay in both championships. Dunsany taking a hammering by Curraha on Tuesday is another example of poor fixture making. Kilmessan are playing tonight in a massive hurling championship game 2 days after an A league fixture. No Hurlers played and Dunsany put out a skeleton team instead of giving a walk over.

Trim's walkover to Ballinabrackey has certainly come back to haunt them.

Unbelieveable and a self inflicted demotion.

Come to think of it, O'Mahonys walkover to Wolfe Tones did them no favours either and I suspect may have had a part to play in the pathetic defence of the Championship.

I think you're just trying to spin the story to fit your ideas. Trim lost 7 or 8 games plus a relegation playoff, but somehow that one walkover was what sent them down?

Unfortunately not so.

Trim have been in freefall for the past few weeks after being top scorers in the group stages of the IFC. If Trim took the league seriously they would have been in the mix for promotion not being relegated to div 3 which, considering the talent in the team is a pretty poor performance.

How long is it since Trim have been division 3 in football?
